Need Patient Pediatrician

Hi, I have been in Chicago for almost a year and have yet to find a Pediatrician that I really LOVE. Which is hard because I really LOVED my son's Peditrician before we moved.

I am a bit obsessive at times, and I need a Peditrician that will be patient answering all of my questions. Maybe a group because they tend to have a triage nurse or something of the sort that I can call and ask general questions of. I am not one of those parents who rush in to the doctor with every bump and bruise, but I do have occasional questions about fever, teething, nutrition, etc. and need a doctor that can help me with that.

If you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

I also ask a lot of questions and have always found my pediatrician to be patient and responsive. He is board certified and located at Sheffield and Fullerton. Dr. Jeffrey McKeever with Advocate (773- ###-###-####). Good luck.

Dr. Theresa Stillings with the Ravenswood Medical Professional Group is wonderful!!! My kids see her at her office on Cicero, near Berteau, however, she also has an office at Ravenswood hospital, which is near Damen and Wilson. Her office on Cicero is 4211 N. Cicero I believe. The phone number is ###-###-####. My son had pretty severe eczema as a baby. I switched to her when he was two months old because my last pediatrician had a horrible bedside manner. Dr. Stillings not only got his eczema under control, but also remembers him everytime we go in now 14 months later and always asks about my older daughter. She is very open to questions and concerns and they have an option when you call to just ask a question and have a doctor or nurse call back. FYI, there are two pediatricians, however, so you must specify. Not a big fan of the other, Dr. Surati.

If you want a practice and are looking for patient doctors, I found that to be the case with all 3 doctors we saw at Northwestern Pediatric Group. Doctors Martin, Lechman and Ranathu were all very patient and easy to talk to, with good bedside manner. www.nmpg.org

Hi Jeniffer,

My name is M. and I have a 22 mo year old son and stay at home. I leave on ashland/montrose. Our pediatrician is Dr Goldstein from the Northwestern Children's Practice (www.sweetbabies.com). I love their practice because they have an advice line where a nurse practitioner always calls you back pretty quickly. I'm the same as you, just need some simple advice from on fever, administering medications, picky eaters, etc.
they are very helpfull and never gave me the impression that my question or concern is silly or that I should not call them for that. We see dokter goldstein but i also heard that Rebecca Unger is a popular pediatrian. i met her once, she is really friendly. they have more docters in the practice and you are always free to visit any docter you want. they all have their specialties as well. i know that rebecca unger is specialized in nutrion and can help out wit picky eaters.

It is a bit of a drive downtown but i think it's worth it.

I see that you're thinking of starting a playgroup. I'd love to join with Dylan every now and then although I don't think I'd be able to do that 2 or 3 times a week.

I hope my advice is helpfull.

Let me know what you think and if you're starting the playgroup.

Best regards,
M. de Groot

Have you tried Dr. Rosenberg - he is part of the Children's Health Care Assoc on Sheffield (AND THEY HAVE FREE VALIDATED VALET PARKING!!! - great for the winter). I call him probably once a week and talk to him and/or a nurse. They have been incredibly patient and never once sound annoyed. The number is ###-###-####. Good Luck.
