Hello. I am looking for a new Ob/Gyn with Methodist. I have been with them for 10 years and would really like to switch doctors due to problems with mine. I prefer a female, but am open to male suggestions as well. I would really like to stick with Methodist so I don't have to worry about record transfers.

What can I do next?

The midwives at Methodist are fabulous and delivered both my girls. The model for midwifery is very different than traditional OB/GYN, gives more options, is more positive and empowers women. After having bounced around from OB to OB for my entire adult life, I was happy to finally find the midwives. They gave me respect, time and choices over my health, both well care and during pregnancy that I had a hard time finding ever before.

Dr. Bossert of Kolbeck, Nabity, Bossert, Simmons and Schulte's OBGYN is terrific! They are a private practice so they deliver at any hospital. They have two offices-Lakeside (168th and Center) and Immanuel Hospital (72nd and Ames area). He is absolutely wonderful, but I would go to any of the doctors in his practice. Their nurses are great too. I have always felt like I was his favorite patient, but I can't imagine him treating anyone else with less professional care! Dr. Nabity actually delivered my first child and he was great too. Dr. Simmons is a woman and is great. I have talked to her when she was on call. Very much a team-oriented practice. Good luck!

I love love love my OB. I usually am so nervous about going to the doctor and normally saw a woman, so this is the first male I have ever seen, but right when he walks in the room his calmness just takes you over. He is in a private practice off 87th and center. Dr. Ben Ryder, he delivered my son at Methodist. It was a totally awesome experience. Even with my son doing a little turn around while I was pushing which resulted in a panic phone call by my labor nurse to Dr. Ryder he came quickly and was so calm and never got flustered. He is such a calm and encouraging physician I would recommend him to anyone.

I love Dr. Sara Gernhart with Methodist. She is at the healthwest clinic (156th and Dodge). They are moving their offices in the next few weeks to the new Methodist Womens' Center. Last I heard she is taking new patients. Please let me know if you have quesitons about her. I was recomended to see her when Dr. Knolla (OB) was no longer taking new patients (also with Methodist)

I have been going to Jodi Hedrick for 7 years now, LOVE HER!!! She was great support during/after a miscarriage and through the pregnancy/delivery of my now 2 year old daughter. I highly recommend her. She is part of Mid-City OBGYN off 72nd. Good luck!
