New Stroller for My 18 Month Old

Hi,

I need a new stroller for our almost 18 m/o daughter. I like the Peg Perego's that I saw at Babies R Us but none of them have a tray for the parents on top...any suggestions on where to find a lightweight stroller with both child and parent trays? I always have a bottle of water or coffee and like somewhere to stash keys/phone etc. And what's up with the PP's being so expensive? If they had the tray I'd be in, but I don't see the functionality other than the lightweight deal.

I have a 17 month old Daughter and we love the pink jeep stroller, it has a cup holder for me, and there are 2 bags on each side to hold some light weight stuff.....here is a link to the stroller.....it has some other great features like a movable sun shade, and the back rolls up to give your child some air, so they dont get all sweaty...I recently took it on the L train and it was fine.

Hi N.,

I have a Graco single stroller with both a child and parent tray. It is lightweight too, the Metrolite, which is part of the travel system I registered for before my three year old was born. It has held up well, and is a lot cheaper than the Peg Peregos. Just a note, as your daughter gets older, she will want to spend less and less time in the stroller, so you might want to go less expensive, especially if you are thinking about number two. Then you might want to invest in a double stroller, when the time comes. Now that I have my 18 month old as well, we have gotten a lot of use out of the double stroller. We went with a Graco as well for the double, as I love the parent and child trays as well!

Good luck,

J.

Hi N.,
The Peg Peregos do like nice. If you really want one of these maybe you can get one of those cupholders they sell at babies r us that attach to the stroller.

We have the Jeep stroller (the one with three wheels). Its not super lightweight but it has nice cupholders, pockets, basket on bottom, and speakers + place to hook up your cd or mp3 and fun pretend steering wheel and its good on rough terrain. There are times we need a smaller, easy to fold up lightweight stroller so we have the Combi umbrella stroller for that (but this is not as good on rough terrain). I would've preferred to get one stroller that could handle it all but I couldn't find one like that. Anyway, having the two has worked out okay for us. If you don't need a stroller that handles rough terrain, I'd recommed the Combi which is about $100.

I have a Peg Perego's stroller and I hate it, It is heavy and not easy to fold up. I recentily bought a light weight Stroller from Jeep and I love it.
I got it online from Wal Mart and it only cost $59.00.

Hi N.,

I'm pretty happy with my $40 Baby Tend Trendsport which has a parents' tray. Maybe you're looking for one that has some more bells and whistles? I got mine at Babies R Us. Perhaps you would want to go to Consumer Reports to do some research on it?

I prefer the Jeep 3 wheel all terrain strollers hands down to *anything* on the market regardless of price or weight. It has the mommy tray on top, the kid tray with the electronic steering wheel for the kiddo and it goes over hills, gravel, whatever you can throw at it. And, it turns on a dime, its just great.
