I am new to the Collinsville area and I am having a hard time! I dont know where anything is or any fun things to do with my son during our daytime! Any suggestions. He is a 2 year old VERY active little boy! And we are both getting cabin fever and need out!

What can I do next?

Hello,
I belong to a website called Cafemom. They have a bunch of sub groups on there. One of the sub groups I belong to is Collinsville Mommies and Collinsville MaMa's. One of them has a playdate everyweek with their kids. They meet for tot time. I don't know the details because since I work during the day when a lot of the outings are I don't pay much attention. But the moms on there seem pretty close and they do stuff together. I would check it out.

Also Collinsville has a lot of community things to do. If you go to the Collinsville Area Rec Dept website they have things. Also the Collinsville website shows some community things.

Welcome to Collinsville!!

There are a few parks in Collinsville (too bad it will be cold soon). There are two small ones one off of Lebanon Road called Glidden Park, and one off of Camelot. There is a much larger park behind Aldi on Pine Lake Road called Woodland Park. There are several different playgrounds there, and a pond with ducks and geese.
There is a Monkey Joe's in Fairview Heights that has an area for small children. There is a gymnastics class that you can take with him in O'Fallon at a place called Midwest Twisters. And then there is always Chuckie Cheese in Fairview also.

In St. Louis there is the City Museum, which is really fun for kids. There are a bunch of tunnels to climb through. There is also the St. Louis Science Center and the Magic House. When it gets nicer the Zoo in St. Louis is free (unless they start charging out-of-staters like they were considering). I think there is a train museum over there also.

That is all I could come up with off the top of my head. I live in Collinsville. If I can be of any more help, please let me know!

Looks like you have a few ideas, but here are a few more closer, besides the parks in Collinsville. Don't forget the school playgrounds. A few years ago al the schools were updated and so was the outdoor play equipment. In Glen Carbon, North of Collinsville on Rt 157 there is a place called The Game. it has a great indoor climbing unit and it's like $3.00 for the kids to play. It will ware them out. In Troy, IL East of Collinsville off of Rt 162 (Behind FCB Bank) is The Great Skate, on Sundays they have the skating rink filled with bounce houses. There is no skating on this day and is not as crazy as Monkey Joes in Fairview (as someone had mentioned to you already). I know you your little one is only 2, but Gateway Fun Park on the west end of collinsville has an arcade and such, There is also one in Maryville off of vadalabene Rd accross from the hospital called Maryville FunTyme. Hope this gives you a few more ideas :-)

I don't think this lists anything specifically in Collinsville (sorry), but there are some great resources for things in and around Saint Louis. I hope this helps!

In Edwardsville on 159 is the Children's Museum, it is a small place but my 3 year old loves it. They do have some weird hours so check their website. It is only $4 per person, but they do have coupons hanging on the wall when you enter for $1 off. The Maryville Library and Edwardsville Library is also a good place. I know they both have story times, I am just not sure of the times and when the sessions begin. We are in one now on Tuesday mornings at the Edwardsville library but I am not sure when the date is to sign up for the next session. The first Saturday of every month the Home Depot in Edwardsville and I think Collinsville have a craft that kids can do for free. It is from 8-noon. There is a Little Gym in Edwardsville that has classes for toddlers. Hope this help and welcome to the area!
