Hi A.! My husband and I also see a marriage counselor and we've only been married 18 months. The counselor we use is Dr.Dana McCall and she is in Lewisville which is not far from Carrollton at all. She would be worth the extra 10 min. drive. Her number is ###-###-#### and I think you'll be very happy with her. She is straightforward and gets down to business from the first visit which is what we needed/wanted. Hope this helps. Let me know if you decide to go with her. Take care and good luck!

Hi A.,

I would strongly recommend Dr. Terry Parsons. He is actually in Richardson, just north of 635 on Coit. Dr. Parsons specializes in relationships, especially marriages. He has done a multiple-year study and published a book on his findings not long ago called The Intimacy Jungle. I have worked with him (over the course of several relationships!) off and on for 10 years now. He will be able to help you and your husband (and he is on most insurances!). His number is ###-###-####.

Good luck!

There are a group of wonderful counselors located at Trinity Mills and Josey in the bank building across from Target. The counseling office is Lifeworks Counseling. There are several that work with married couples. They have a website where you can read about each of the counselors backgrounds. It is owned by a Dr. Deb Wade.

I echo lifeworks at Trinity Mills and Josey, and also have worked with Dr. Parsons. Either would be great!

A., my husband and I have recently attended the most incredible "training" seminars to be created! It is called Discovery and will no doubt save your marriage and improve your quality of life. The first session is Discovery 1, this is when you work on yoruself and disposing of all your past and present baggage. The next month is Discovery 2, this helps you with tools to keep living free of hang ups. Discovery 3 is to help you establish a purpose. Through this training, it is guaranteed you and your husband will change for the better but Discovery also has a Relationship Training in April that is amazing! And only one of you has to have been to Discovery 1 for both of you to attend. My husband and I were not in marital trouble and it has still made things 100% better. My friends that were near divorce say they can't believe the difference it has made.

Now, about the money, the trainings do have costs and fees (not much thought) but there are scholarships available. So it may be possible for you and your husband to attend all of the trainings for little or no costs. Please see their website and at least call them with questions: http://discovery-training.com/

Good luck and I hope to see in the future a posts about healing!
