Hi, we are expecting a baby boy in January. I am looking for nursery rhymes/ Lullabies. Can anyone tell me the place where I can buy the CDs for nominal price? Is there any website from where I can download the songs for free/ paid? Also I need your recommendation on the best nursery rhymes collection. Thanks very much.

What can I do next?

I use Lullabies for Little Dreamers by Kevin Roth and I swear it's magic... never have a kid yet who isn't instantly sleepy listening to it

I love the vocal lullaby CD from Fisher Price. They also have a great one for xmas. My almost 5 year old still plays it when she goes to bed at night. I bought mine cheap off of ebay.

I received a few Baby Einstein CDs that featured classical music when my son was a baby and he liked them a lot. If I were having a baby today, I think that I would rely on Pandora since you can choose a variety of different themes and it's free.

Regarding books, Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes are great and Richard Scarey has a cute illustrated version. Don't forget about using your local library as a resource for books and book ideas too. No matter how many books you have at home, you will want to "refresh" your book rotation. :)

I've bought this kind of CD at Used Record/DVD/CD stores and at garage sales. Fred Meyer has them at reasonable prices too.

What is best depends on what style you like. I prefer soft instrumental music for going to sleep. If you buy the CD at a store, including the used one you can listen to at least part of the disk before you buy.

I just saw a bunch of Kid CDs at Half Price Books this weekend. Definitely try and find them used to save $$$.
