Ok so I started a birthcontrol bc my doc told me I needed it due to all the problems I have had... 2 periods in a 4 week time span, sever cramping and moodiness since I had my IUD taken out after my miscarriage. Never had anything like this happen before. I actually dont mind the pill I am taking and we are using condoms as well bc we really dont want another baby anytime soon. We were planning on doing the predition of ovulation, but my doc told me I probably couldnt get it figured out bc of how off my periods were. Said we needed to regulate them first. Now the dilema... I am on the one were its 3 weeks off 1 week on period.... According to my bc I should have started my period.... I havent and I can usually tell if I am going to start soon... I dont feel the same nothing is right and I still havent started. It might be stress bc I have a lot of that going on right now, but has this happened to anyone else? First thing that poped into my head was I was pregnant again (I got pregnant with both my daughters on the pill, and 3 miscarriages on the pill. my last one was on an IUD. Has anyone went through this on a birthcontrol and not been pregnant and it was just stress? I started working full time again a couple weeks back so I didnt know if that triggered it... I have not been on the pill in over a year and from what my memory recalls I should start on the day the inactive pills begin.... I am only a day late so should I just try and relax or what?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for the answers! I have been super stressed and this is not helping lol! We are in no need for another child finacially and it would just make my stress worse. I love kids and if something happened again I would gladly love the child and care for it but I really dont think its our best option right now. I just started losing weight and I am very excited about that as well. I hope I start soon bc still nothing and no signs... I guess I just have to wait it out! BTW I got pregnant with condoms and bc pill with my oldest so thats whats really freaking me out! God works in mysterious ways and I cant thank him enough for my little girls, but with everything thats going on not really what I need lol! I hope I am one of the few who dont get preiods on it that would be fine. Its been over a year since I was on the pill so my memory seems to fail me with a 7 month old and a 20 month old lol. We already decided once we are done I am getting my tubes tied and I am hoping I am not the one out of what ever it is that happens to get pregnant still. My doc calls me fertile mertile and told me the only sure way for me not to get pregnant is to not have sex (like thats going to happen lol).

I never started my period until about the 2nd or 3rd day of the week on the inactive pills and even then it was always very light with no symptoms beforehand. Try relaxing. Sounds like you've been stressing!

Yes, missed an entire period due to stress. And it was right before my husband's vasectomy! We had so much going on then. Try and get out and walk with your kid(s). It's the easiest and cheapest stress reducer.

I have not had normal periods since my second son was born (he is 21 months old). I had completely irregular bleeding, sometimes 14 heavy days, then 6 weeks of nothing, then two periods back to back with a few days off in between. My doctor's nurse's line kept saying it was "not unusual," and was probably because I had taken a few pills late. My doctor was not impressed and switched my pills immediately. I finally stopped taking them since we want another baby, and I am having my first almost normal cycle in almost a year. So, keep taking the pills, track your bleeding, and keep in touch with your doctor. I always took pregnancy tests if I was on a longer cycle just to be safe.

You need to give your body time to adjust! Relax. If you are concerned, take a pregnancy test. If you are using condoms, you are more then likely NOT.

Take a deep breath, relax and give your body time to get adjusted to the new pill and your new stress level.

Good Luck!

I know you received a lot of great answers, I just wanted to add my 2 cents. I've been on a form of the pill for over 15 years, and I never ever started my period on the first day of the inactive pill week. In fact as time went on I started getting it the 4th or 5th day, until it was only 1-2 days long. Plus you are right about stress, but since you had multiple periods before most likely your body is just trying to get regular, so you may have some spotting halfway through the month but I bet by next month you will feel more regular!

Wow! You need to get the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility! It is obvious that you don't know your body's signs for when you are fertile. This book tells you what to look for even if you have really irregular periods. It will help you take charge of your birth control so you won't be so stressed out.

I think that's normal...when I went on 'the pill' no one told me what to expect but I sometimes wud go for 2 or 3 months w/o a period & when I did finally have one it was VERY lite & only lasted a day or two, sometimes 3 days but it was really great! A great relief from heavy flows & bad cramping I had. So if you're still not sure, talk to your dr about it but I've heard other women in my circle say the same thing, it happened to me & nothing was 'wrong'. Hope this helps, good luck!!

I am the queen of this situation. I had no peirods with bc and people said it was normal. So I went with it. I think you may not get one this month. or maybe never as long as you are on it. It drove me crazy for 5 years, but it was nice to never cramp or have one. Every body responds diff. to the pill. I think that some women want to have a per. on the pill and some are OK with not having one. As far as when the sugar pills begin. Usually you will start about 3 days in. So if you started pills on a Sun-Sat. And the sugar pill is taken on at Sunday......then your period may begin Tuesday-Fri.
Just my best guess. It sounds like you need some permanent bc done eventually once you decide your done. It sounds like your body is very pron to get pregant. good luck.

I remember freaking out about this when I first started the pill. I've been on the pill for over 15 years (and a few different kinds). My period has never started until 3 or 4 days after I started the inactive pills. On one pill it wouldn't start until 6 days on the inactive pills. I have also missed a period entirely during a particularly stressful time (like that helps with stress!!). I think you're fine and should try to relax. The pill is great for regulating your period and you are very wise to use condoms as well given your history.
