First of all, I'm a VERY paranoid person. I just found out last week I'm pregnant with my 3rd child & since my second one was born which was 3 years ago, I haven't had a pap smear done. So, I know at my first doctor appointment I will have to get one & since I've waited so long I started looking online for reason of abnormal pap results and what could cause cervical cancer and things like that and one symptom of something was pain during intercourse. I don't know if it's because I already have two children or what the extent has to be of pain during intercourse, but every now and then when my husband & I have intercourse, it does hurt at times like he's hitting "something" like I said, I'm not sure if it's from my body being different since having kids or what but now I'm really paranoid that I can't stop thinking about it it's driving me crazy.

What can I do next?

Okay - take a DEEP BREATH, let it out slowly.

I had pain during sex - felt like my husband was "hitting something" and it turned out to be Strep B. And I'm not pregnant. so before you freak yourself out and talk yourself into cervical cancer, take a DEEP breath and go see your OB for a culture.

You can find out a ton of stuff on-line. However, it cannot diagnose you. So stop looking for things to get freaked over. Just go to your OB and get checked out. My money says Strep B or the beginnings of a yeast infection.

CONGRATULATIONS on your new addition.

Take a deep breath.

Good luck!

Calm down love! Don't freak out until there is a reason. Sex an hurt for lots of reasons but it doesn't mean you have cancer. Wait until you go to the doc! Congrats on the baby :)

If I have an ovarian cyst it is sometimes painful during intercouse. If it makes you feel better my doc said I have the option to get a pap every other year since I have never had an abnormal pap. I am 42 yo though.

Check it out with your doctor. It is my understanding that endometriosis can cause pain during intercourse.

Just wanted to re-iterate, as Cheryl said, it could be a yeast infection. I had one recently and while I didn't have this symptom, when I looked up the symptoms online painful intercourse was always mentioned.

Try not to worry, hopefully it's nothing major!

I know this may be TMI. I dont usually get pain after intercourse. Only i it was kind of "rough" the night before. I am under the impression that intercourse should not normally hurt. I would ask your OB. Congrats on your pregnancy :)

You might be having pain during intercourse because you are pregnant. It happens. You need an exam. The doc can help you with this.

Good luck!
