Does anyone know of a good pediatric dermatologist in the sacramento area. My 18 month old son has eczema and his current treatment isn't helping. I would appreciate any referrals. Thank you.

Dr. Margaret Parsons is the absolute best in the Sacramento area. She sees all ages including children. She consults with many of the other pediatric specialists when there are multiple health issues. Her office is near Sutter Memorial hospital. Good luck.

I had a student with eczema so bad that when she came to school she would have to wear bandages on her face to cover wear the skin had fallen away oozing. Her older brother had it on his scalp as well and had missing patches of hair in addition. I never knew it could get that bad. They of course tried the Eucerin that every doctor recommends first as protocol. They also tried many prescription treatments. Nothng worked fot them. I introduced them to Melaleuca & a product called Renew. I was told it worked on eczema & it was what my mom used for my brother when we were kids, so I gave them a small tube to try out. I didn't know how well it would work, but it was worth a try. In just two days, the healing process began. After a short time (can't remember how long, but it was pretty fast) her skin was completely clear & her mom said the kids weren't itching anymore. She was very grateful! These kids had it so bad that the emotions over it working were overwhelming. I can't imagine what it would be like to have two kids in such pain & itching all the time that their skin was coming off! It would put me in tears all the time as their mother. I wasn't their mother & it brought me to tears when it worked & I tend to keep my emotions close to my chest. It has been about 4 years now & her daughter is long out of my preschool. I saw them in Target a few months ago and she thanked me again. The little girl's skin was beautiful & clear! It was a pretty cool experience. So I guess it you want to try it out for yourself I would be happy to send you a small tube to see if it works for you guys as well. I get this in a daily digest so let me make sure you can email me through the website.

I second the recommendation for Dr. Margaret Parsons. She is very caring and good with kids. She is located at 5340 Elvas Ave, Suite 600, and takes many types of insurance. The number for the office is ###-###-####.

I don't have a good dermatologist recommendation.. unfortunately. I have been dealing w/ eczema in my kids for years. Seems that what works for one kid, doesn't for another. Or works for a time, then stops. I am on a listserve for parents of kids w/ eczema which provides a TON of information on every treatment under the sun. Has been great for info and support. If you are interested, I can try and figure out how to send you the link to be added.
