I would highly recommend my daughter's pediatrician Dr. Federico Frias. My 2 yr old daughter adores him. He has such a kind way about him & is very calm with children. I have never felt rushed in any visit.He takes the time to answer questions. His office is very quick to return calls & organized. I have never felt like another #. He now has another Dr. w/ him now who I have not met plus another new office on SR 64. She is a lady and I spoke with her once for advice for a accident my daughter had on a weekend. Very nice. Hi K., my name is B.. I'm a SAHM in the Ellenton area. I'm responding to your post with regard to a pediatrician. We have 3 daughters (ages 8,5, & 9 months) and their pediatrician is Dr.Gerardo Lopez. His practice is Pediatric Partners. If given a choice of docs, ask for Dr. Lopez. He is AMAZING! I cannot say enough good things about him! The thing that I love the most about him is that he doesn't try to over medicate the kids. He is located off SR 64 close to I-75. Phone # is ###-###-####. He has always made time for whatever happens to be going on in my house and has even opened his practice for my girls on both Saturday & Sundays.

For what it's worth I have previously worked in the medical community locally here for the last 8 years (I run a small & reasonable at home daycare now) and this practice is the practice that all the local doctors take their kids to. The office staff is always courteous & knowledgable. I couldn't be happier.

K..........Well, I guess its pretty obvious that Dr. Lopez is awesome! We have had him for 9 years and wouldn't use anyone else unless I had to. I don't know about the holistic approach, but he definately doesn't just give out medicine for runny noses, etc. He spends adequate time with you and actually gets to know your child and yourself. My daughter wants to just go visit to see him now, because of course she isn't as sick as she used to be when she was younger, so we only go maybe 2 x's a year! But they are very good Dr's and are open on Saturdays for Emergency appts and I have had them see my daughter on Sundays also, just as a special visit, they aren't open then. But.........I know they usually have a long waiting list, so that could be an issue. But thats because he's the best! Good luck in whomever you choose.
