We're moving to the New Haven area (not sure if we're going to set up West around Bethany/Woodbridge or East around Guilford). Any recommendations for a female pediatrician around New Haven? We're coming from a group of 3 who take time their time, don't rush us and don't push pills. They're going to be a hard act to follow. Also going to be looking for a pediatric dentist and pediatric allergist (my 3 1/2 year old just started this past spring with some really bad outside allergies). Any help would be appreciated!!

What can I do next?

If you land in the Guilford area, Branford/North Branford Pediatrics is a great group. There are probably 6-7 Drs in the group, all of which we have seen at one point or another for sick visits. Cannot say a bad thing about the group. Great docs, great nurses, kind front office staff. My kids see Dawn Torres for their annual well visits.

I also would agree with Dr Jose Calderon for Pediatric allergist. Wonderful man, gentle, heavy accent. Makes some not so fun appointments bearable. For a Pediatric dentist, there is one in Madison that my girlfriend takes her kids too. Not sure of the name but could get it for you. Good luck!

I don't have recommendations for pediatricians at this time but I love my son's pediatric allergist. His name is Dr. Jose Calderon. He has different offices but practices at Yale-New Haven Health group pediatric specialty office located on one Long Wharf. I called him "the baby whisperer" because my son is so afraid of doctors offices that he gets hysterical every time we go to any doctor appointment, and once when we saw Dr. Calderon, for about two minutes after we walked in the door he stopped crying and smiled at him. He is gentle and knowledgeable, heavy accent but i think very highly of him.

Dr. Gregory Germain is wonderful. My Daughter is four and he has been her pediatrician from birth. He has an amazing bedside manner. He is simply the best. Offices are in New Haven & Cheshire.

I echo the praises for the Pediatric and Medical Associates Group in New Haven and Cheshire. I use Dr. Germian, but have had interaction with all of them because my youngest (2 when we first started with them) has cold induced asthma and had (he outgrew them) allergies to food and pollens. They were all great. As an added push for them, I have many friends in the medical profession who love this group and bring their own kids to them. They can also suggest a pediatric allergist, I used one in Branford which was a hike for me, but worth it - he was awesome. I cannot remember the name, but if you need it, message me and I can try to find it. Good luck.
