Hello- I got a DSLR camera about a year ago and still only use the auto features. I'd love to take a 1-day class to help me learn how to take even better shots of my kids. I have no photography training. Ideally, I'd like a class geared toward Moms since I won't likely be taking landscape or nature pictures. Can anyone recommend a place to go if such a class exists?

What can I do next?

This couple is great and located in Orland Park. I know Rob has had a one day workshop in the past on how to use your camera. You might want to call to see if they have another one planned for after their holiday rush.

In the city are at least two places: 1) The Chicago Photography Center, which has one day workshops, and 2) Lillstreet Art Center, which has classes in a series. I don't know of any one-day classes at LAC, but you can check their website. Both places are off the CTA Brown line train. CPC is close to the Paulina stop, and LAC is close to the Montrose stop.

I haven't taken Amy's classes, but she is a wonderful children's photographer. I know she offers the kind of class you are looking for.

Amy Tripple from Amy Tripple Photography in Downers Grove runs a Sweet Shots workshop to teach parents how to use the DSLR camera.
