Planning Family Vacation

I have a two year little girl and a four year old little boy. My family usually goes on vacation during the summer. I want to go some place that would really excite the kids and still be fun for the adults, but would not be too expensive. We all have passports so international would not be a problem. This past year we went to Canada and Niagra Falls. We had a great time. I am not really interested in Disney, because it is expensive and I want the kids to be older when we take that vacation.

What can I do next?

We all LOVE Colorado. It's not terribly far, and the climate and scenery are spectacular! Colorado Springs would be a great place to stay. They have the Air Force Academy there, as well as numerous other tourist attractions. Seven Falls, Garden of the Gods, Pike's Peak, and Manitou Springs (a great shopping area). A short drive away is Cripple Creek where the kids can actually pan for gold and eat buffalo burgers! There is also Canon City not far away where there are several things to do; also the Royal Gorge which has a train ride and a beautiful bridge that spans the gorge. Look up Colorado Springs on the computer to find out other fun things to do. We've been there twice, once when the kids were very small, and one when they were grown. Great fun!

I remember my family vacation to Colorado (I was about 10). Great advice. My parents just got back from Williamsburg and said it would be a great place when my son was older. They have it setup back during the Pilgrims.

you may try the Flying L ranch in Bandera, TX. they have an on-site water park, and breakfast and supper is included. they also have entertainment every night, also included -- could be a cowboy story teller, or a rope trick guy, or a cowboy band. they have kids' ativities throughout the day. we got one room with a sleeper sofa for the two kids.

Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, or Banff (in Canada) would be great. Wildlife, geysers, glaciers, beautiful sunsets, etc.
Also, if you like to camp, not so expensive.

Of course, you could always go to the pyramids in Mexico....

Hove fun!
