I am looking for cheap or free groups to attend around the bothell area where I can meet other moms while my baby interacts with others around her age.
H., I have a 7 1/2 month old and am looking for the same thing. I tried going to one that met at Alderwood Mall, but it was so busy I didn't know who was in the group.

The Bothell library has a fantastic storytime on Tues mornings for babies 6-18 months. They are on a two-week break right now and will resume on March 4th. There are 2 sessions, 10:30 and 11 am. They also have a wonderful children's section with tons of books for everyone.
Check out MOMS Club International... It's a $25 annual fee, a non-profit charitable organization, specifically designed to support moms during the daytime. I'm a member of the Woodinville chapter and I know there's one in Bothell too. You can google it to find the contact information.
If I took our boys to everything that was planned in a month, it would be like a full-time job just getting to play dates. It's also a great opportunity to talk with other moms who have had similar experiences.

Hi H., I go to an AWESOME MOMS group on Tuesdays, we meet at Eastside Foursquare Church which is on the corner of NE 145th and 100th Ave NE in Bothell WA, the caregivers get there about 9 a.m. so they are ready for checkins by 9:15 a.m., my wonderful mother actually works in the baby room, her name is Kathy. Group starts at 9:30 and ends at 11:30, some people arrive late or have to leave early, we have a program fee of $5 to cover the cost of the childcare workers but your first visit to check us out is free and we do have scholarships available and all you have to say is that you need one. Some moms pack lunches for their kids to eat while they get a little more social time after group and we have playdates at each others homes and at parks. Are you familiar with MOPS--Mothers of Preschoolers? We have a MOPS group that meets two Tuesdays a month at our church, Alderwood Community Church, at 196th and I-5 in Lynnwood. It's a meeting that includes food, a speaker on pertinent mothering issues, a craft and chat time. Children are cared for by caregivers. It only costs $5 per meeting. When my children were younger, I used to attend a MOPS group - Mothers of Preschoolers. Check the local churches around your area. It's great, because they organize all kinds of things, including crafts, spending time with other moms while someone is watching your kids. The kids even learn stuff. I went to the Alderwood Community Church one - I think it was $15 per month. It was very well organized, - we even had a wonderful tea. The Lutheran church on 134th Street SE (between the new Safeway and Albertsons) has a MOPS group that meets Friday nights.
Sounds like we could start our own group!
Last year I was a caregiver for a MOPS group at my church, North Creek Presbyterian, and they were a great bunch of ladies. Unfortunately, they meet on Weds morning, which doesn't work for me because I bbsit M,T&W.
Anyone interested in meeting? We could meet at the Alderwood playspace (great indoor space for little ones to crawl), or anywhere else you can think of.
We could all wear purple shirts or something so we recognize each other.

Another great group is MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) - ages of kids are infants to Kindergarten. I belong to the MOPS group at Northshore Baptist Church in Bothell, on NE 145th.

You pay $5 each time and that helps the MOPS pay for the fun craft we do. Childcare is included and they have a fun program for the kids. I have a daugher in the infant room right now and they are wonderful with her. The church has scholarships available if the cost is too much. They just want every woman/child who wants to come - to come! Hope this helps!
