My husband and I moved to the Oswego area at the end of August. I am a teacher and am looking forward to spending the summer with my son (15 months old). I have been looking to join a playgroup (especially over the summer), but can't find anything in our park district manual, etc. Any ideas?

Go to www.meetup.com - I'm pretty sure there are a couple of playgroups in your area! I have one, but it's in Warrenville, so it is probably too far for you. :-)
I am a member of Mothers & More of Dupage County, and it's a great group for working & stay-at-home moms. There are playgroups during the day, and great activities at night for moms only. If you want to look at the Oswego chapter, this is their website: http://mothersandmoreoswego.tripod.com/
I belong to and am coordinator for a playgroup, Kane County Playgroup. We do a lot of things in North Aurora, Batavia, St. Charles and surrounding areas. I live in Oswego as well. I would suggest checking out Mother's and More. I joined this group and they hae activities all the time. We have a lot of playgroups and even a person who organizes them. There are activities just for mom and a lot of options involving the kids. It is a very active group with a lot really nice women. You can attend a few things as a guest before deciding to join. The Oswego Park District, (Boulder Hill) has tumbling classes that my son loved. It is non-stuctured and I met many Mom's there too.

I found my awesome friends and playgroup moms through Hometown Hello. They have a webstite and hopefully they still organize them!
