Please Help - Desperately Searching for a New Primary Care Physician

I'm so hoping someone out there can help me. I am in desperate need of a new general practitioner/primary care physician for myself. (Edited to add: I'm not looking for a pediatrician -- I love my daughter's pedi. I'm looking for a doctor for myself.) My two big wishes: It would be a practice where I'm not waiting upwards of 2 hours past my appointment time (regularly!) to be seen, and the doctors in the practice actually are willing to spend more than 45 seconds of their time listening to me tell them what brought me in there in the first place.

Please tell me I'm not dreaming! :) If you know of any good primary care doctors ANYWHERE in Pinellas County or even in the West Shore or South Tampa area, please let me know ASAP!

Thanks in advance!

Where in Pinellas? I have a good PCP in Oldsmar but that might be the opposite direction from you.

I don't know of any primary care physicians but I do know an Internest that is out of this world. When I go there I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes to get called back and then no more than 5 minutes to wait on the Doctor. She is very laid back, looks you in the eyes when you talk and really seems like she is genuinely interested in your problems. After I had my daughter I had real bad joint pain in my fingers. They did bloodwork to see if I had arthritis it came back negative but she said that there has to be a reason for my joint pain and referred me to an arthritis Doctor. So she just doesn't stop because the test came back fine, she want's to find out what is wrong. I have been in and out of her office in 20 minutes which is unheard of.

Hi J....Sorry, my message isn't going to be of any help to you...I just moved to the area and haven't found a primary for myself or a pedi for my kids. I live in Pinellas 33764 and saw that you LOVE your daughter's pedi and was wondering if you would tell me who she sees. I've been trying to find a good pedi for my two girls. Hope you had luck in finding a good primary for yourself. THANKS SO MUCH!!!

I love who I go to. I have tried many Dr.'s in the past and none could touch this place I go to now. I use St. Petersburg Pediatrics at 3515 49th Street with Dr. Cibran and Dr. Amy Ryan. They are great. Always clean and speedy. I never feel that I have to wait an unreasonable amount of time. They are even open late eveings and Sat. and Sun. They have several locations in St. Pete, one in Pinellas Park and one in Seminole. Everyone there is always nice too. Very easy to get an appointment when you want and they even take walk-ins too. Good luck.

I absolutely love my general practitioner in South Tampa. Dr. Christopher Blazejowski:

3043 West Cleveland

I have never waited any length of time that I felt was unreasonable to see him and he has never made me feel like he was in a rush or that I was wasting his time when I go see him. He is young, down to earth and completely against over medicating like some doctors. The other doctors in his practice are just as nice. Good luck!

I have a great PCP that really takes the time with you to discuss your visit and any concerns. I never have to wait more than 10 minutes. She's actually a dual pediatrician, internist, and family doctor. She is my daughter's pediatrician and when my doctor moved offices I switched myself over to her for myself. So now we both have the same PCP.

Hi J.,

Good luck!! I noticed that someone posted about Dr. Blazejowski and I am so glad that she's had such a great experience there. I used to see another doctor at that office and had a totally different experience, so be careful. I was always kept waiting a very long time to see my doctor and then the doctor barely spent any time with me. Once I waited 45 mins for an appointment and didn't even see the doctor I made the appointment with, but the physician assistant. That was the last time I went to that doctor. At the time I went to that office, it was close to where I worked and I always ended up having to take a long (very long) lunch break. Another thing that really annoyed me about that office was that they wouldn't pass messages on the doctor. When I called with a very simple question, I was told that the doctors don't talk to patients on the phone and that I had to make an appointment with the doctor to ask my question.

I see a great doctor now, but it's not in any of the areas you had asked about. It's in NW Tampa, Westchase area. Send me a message if you want to know who it is.

L.
