We're interested in having a pool put in our backyard, but we're very new to the area, so we have no idea which pool companies to call. We live in Sugar Land, and we're looking for a dependable, trustworthy company that does quality work but is not necessarily the most expensive. Any help is very much appreciated! Thank you.

I highly recommend you talk with Diane Lara TEXAS TILE AND COPING. (713-461-TILE)
We interviewed several pool companies....Diane is better than the rest hands down! She may not be the lowest quote you get but she will do the best job. In the end you get what you pay for and when building a pool you want someone that really knows how to do it right.
Good luck!

Call Dennis Clack of Casey"s Pools & Spas located in Katy. They installed our pool 9 years ago. They still respond if I have questions or problems and will come check they pool themselves or refer me to someone dependable if needed. They never left a mess during construction. This is very important with kids around. I interviewed and got bids from 3 companies and Kasey's was the best hands down!!!

We used a company in Katy, Brown & Company. They were reasonable priced, excellent service, pretty fast considering the weather we have had, and just pretty easy to deal with. Their number is ###-###-####. We had no problems.

We used Platinum Pools around 6 years ago. They were great. If there was a small problem, they came right out and fixed it. A couple of things you may want to know. Make sure you have the company run a pipe underground so you can fill your pool with water when necessary. It is a pain dragging the hose to the pool, especially in the hot months when you have to fill it to the water line. Also, if you are getting a spa (which you should) you will regret it if you don't, make sure you have an inside panel and also, tell them where you want the outside spa control to go. They place mine where my dogs can turn it on themselves when they are running around, so I have to keep a chair over it. Also, make sure to raise your spa. We kept ours ground level because of the cost and it gets dirtier easily. One more thing...put a step in your spa. We didn't and it is hard for older folks and sometimes even myself to get in and out.

Hi, we used San Jacinto Pools. Overall we had a pretty good experience. We did our homework, and got referalls. The owner, Tommy, is a very personable man, and comes across as very honest. We've had a couple of problems with the pool since it was built. He's been pretty good about getting right on top of things. Most of the problems were with the flagstone. We weren't aware of its tendency to peel and chip. We've had to have several tiles removed, and the contractor was less than thrilled to replace them, but they did. We've had a couple of problems with equipment, and Tommy contacted the manufacturer for these, and these problems were dealt with within days. BTW, he built the pool in 3 weeks. We were pretty impressed with that. Good luck, let me know if you have any further questions. I would be happy to help. Welcome to Sugar Land!

Pool recommendations: Check out Maier Custom Pools
www.maiercustompools.com Frank Maier is used for repairs and service by several major pool companies and got into the custom building of pools because his customers begged him to when they moved to a new home or heard about him from their friends who used him.

He does what he says he will, when he says he will and does first class design and service at competitive pricing because most of his business is referral so you are not paying for expensive advertising!

I used Watt's Pool Company to install my pool 4 years ago. They were very reliable and timely. I have friends who have
used Star Pool Company and have also been very pleased.

While in the process of selecting a company, I found it difficult to compare prices because you're comparing pumps, etc. all pool talk. I went with a reliable company so that
I would not end up with a big muddy hole in my backyard.

Watt's was so timely, they actually paid me a visit because I was holding up the time line with my selection of pool tile.

Your selection of pool tile, bullnose around the edge of the pool, pool decking, hot tub, etc. is what determines or can
drive up the cost of your pool. It helps to start with a landscape architect because they can help you to make these
selections for your pool. Watt's didn't help with that, Star Pool may have a service to walk you through that process.
