Hi! I can't recommend a Pre-K program that has music and Spanish, but I CAN recommend an awesome Pre-K program offered through the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD. HEBISD has been one of the best school districts in the state for many years and has been #1 for the past three years in a row. My husband and I went through the HEBISD and our daughters are reaping the benefits of it now. Our younger daughter was enrolled in the Pre-K Core Knowledge program @ Spring Garden in Bedford, but several other schools in the district offer the Pre-K Core Knowledge program, too. I've heard rave reviews about the teachers @ Wilshire and Hurst Hills (where the program began) and I cannot more highly complement Mrs. Lopez, the teacher our daughter had @ Spring Garden. The Pre-K Core Knowledge program prepares students to excel in Kindergarten in part because they're already used to being in school all day. Plus, it helped that several of the kids knew each other, so the transition to "big school" wasn't stressful at all. One of the teachers @ our daughter's current school told us that she can always tell which children have been involved in the Pre-K Core Knowledge program because they tend to be more advanced than their peers.

Both of our daughters have been in the Gifted and Talented program since they were identified in Kindergarten, which is one of the many things I love about the district. There's really a sense of providing for all of the children, as well as special needs children, which, in our case, requires educational challenges above and beyond what's offered in the normal classroom environment. Additionally, both of our daughters have been in the Spanish Immersion program since first grade, which is the point at which that program begins. Suzuki Strings is offered through Wilshire Elementary beginning in first grade and continuing through sixth grade. This is a program that will eventually lead to placement in the district's orchestra. It, however, is not synonymous with Spanish Immersion, so it would be a choice you'd have to make. At Central Jr. High, students can begin learning Mandarin Chinese or Hindi and continue learning the language through their senior year. The district is also hoping to add Arabic to the International Business Initiative, of which Mandarin and Hindi are currently a part. Finally, HEBISD is certified to teach the International Baccalaureate program to students in 11th and 12th grade. This is an international program headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. When your child graduates with this degree, he/she will receive at least 24 hours of college credit @ any state university. We have heard of students earning as many as 55 and even 77 college credits through this program!

Clearly, I LOVE the HEB school district! Please don't hesitate to contact me if you'd like more information and/or check out the ____@____.com. I hope this was helpful!

If you're in the Mesquite area, you may want to check out Meadow Oaks Academy. They have both of those programs and more. Good luck!
