this past month has been crazy to say the least. 3 weeks ago i started working full time and i came down with a horrible flu. but yesterday i started vomiting thinking it was my morning sickness i ignored it, but when i got to my ob i was shivering, since i had taken a Tylenol my fever had gone down. when i got home i had the shivers, and nausea. my fever went up to 103.3 i tried to keep myself as cool as possible, well early this morning i started with the stomache problem and running to the restroom because i had to really go. my question is i am positive now that it was food poisoning. have any of you had this happen to you or some one you know? and is there some type of risk or danger to my unborn? thank you and i hope you all enjoy your weekend!!!

How many months are you? I had food poisoning at 37 weeks and kicked me into labor. I was throwing up all night, ever hour, literally. I couldn't believe there was still food in me. I started to have contractions every 1-3 minutes. Finally in the morning I called my OB and he told me that I may be dehydrated from throwing up because I couldn't even drink water, I just ended up throwing it up immediatley. So I went in and I was already 4 cm dialated and SUPER dehydrated from all the throwing up. They stopped the labor by putting me on an IV with liquids and then after an hour or so I was okay, but I stayed there for about 6 hours. Then I went home and all was good. If this still continues, I would call the OB again.

I had severe food poisoning once when I was pregnant with my 2nd child. Diarrhea and vomiting. I was very worried so I called my OB and she wasn't worried. Did you talk to your OB? In my case all was fine. I was only sick for about six hours and then it was out of my system. It sounds like yours is lasting much longer, I would call your doctor tonight.

I had food poisoning when I was pg with my son. I was 3 mos into my term. It was awful. I'd gotten sick off of some spoiled Tomatoes. All went well though. I vomited and was better afterward. My baby was fine. Praise God nothing happened. By the way, my baby is now 8. :)

I had terrible food poisoning when pregnant with my fourth. About month 2 of my pregnancy. I was worried because it was so severe, but my OB said everything would be fine. Our bodies are miraculous things, and our babies are protected far better than we are ourselves. :0)

I had food poisoning in about my 4th or 5th month. My husband actually ran out to the store at 4 in the morning to get me Ginger Ale after calling my OB. So I sat there and drank a whole liter. It was the only thing that would stay down for more than a second. My OB said if you aren't keeping anything down for 12 hours you need to go to the ER and get hydrated with an IV, because you can't get dehydrated when prego. Luckily, the gingerale saved me in the 10th hour :) Good luck. That's the worst.

Hi again Sandra,

There's a traditional Chinese herbal formula that addresses these kinds of complaints (whether from food poisoning or stomach flu) rapidly. You might be able to find something similar at a local health food store in the vitamin department. Look for a product that contains patchouli, perilla leaf, magnolia bark, tangerine peel, at least some of these. It will quell both the nausea and the runs!

Best,
