I am going to be the Mystery reader at my daughter's school at the end of this month.
I am looking for a great book about Pumpkins to read to a group of 12- 3 yr old kids.
Please send any suggestions!
I will also be in charge of making a craft for them also pertaining to Halloween.
I am not creative so I need ideas please on this.
I can spend some money but also do not want to break the bank. I was hoping on no more then 15 bucks...or less would be great!
Thanks you

What can I do next?

Book:
"The Legend Of Spookley The Square Pumpkin."

And the kids can decorate a little square box, since Spookely is a square pumpkin.

I've been reading "The little old lady who was not afraid of anything" to my kids and they think it is the most hilarious book (you gotta make the voices!) and then we made scarecrows afterward.

As for books, I like "This Is Not a Pumpkin" by Bob Staake, or "Too Many Pumpkins" by Linda White.

The first book lends itself to the jack-o-lantern crafts; the second one is (if I remember correctly) about someone who eventually has to have a sort of pumpkin festival because she accidentally grows waaay too many, so maybe doing something with green yarn (as pumpkin vines)?

My favorite is Big Pumpkin by Erica Silverman, the kids love when I read this book, I change my voice for all the different characters.

Not sure on the book part, but I do have an idea for the craft. Buy each child one of those tiny pumpkins, they are usually around $.50. Then you can buy some foamy stickers, eyeballs, or Halloween stickers and let the kids decorate it. Or you can get the tiny pumpkins and paint them all black. Then cut out wings from construction paper and make the pumpkins into little bats.
Good Luck

This tissue pumpkin is a cute idea for that age! You can add on eyes and such too, either cut them out or buy a few packages of the foam jack o lantern face kits at craft stores.

As for books... I only really know about The 5 Little Pumpkins
