Has anyone tried Hoodia, Relacor, SlimFast, etc.? I workout- for 3 hours a week.. this includes walking and weight-training. I am in better "shape" but cannot get rid of this belly fat and its driving me crazy. I have been tracking my food/meals on Weight Watchers.com's website and I eat good. I am over 40 so I am wondering if I just need a boost like one of these products. Thanks for your input.

What can I do next?

I am doing slim fast right now (I just started today) but I did it right after my son was born. It worked well for me, though birth control kept me from losing well enough. Now that is behind me and I am trying to lose again. If you want a buddy, just let me know!!

I did slim fast about 7 years ago. It seemed to work for me. I did not have a ton of weight to lose, but I followed the plan and it worked. Now, though that doesnt seem to work for me. My husband and I used Atkins, which works for us, quick results and once you get used to it, it is easy to follow and really makes you aware of what you eat, even the little bites here and there and holds you accountable for it. I work for a psych and he warnes about hoodia, etc. Many of those diet pills have things in them that can toy with your mood, so if you have issues with depressions, or highs and lows, or anxiety, these tings can worsen your symptoms. My neighbor dropped a ton of weight and while I dont reccomnend her method, she has stopped drinking soda all together and drinks red bull instead, she swears there is an appetite supressant in it

I agree with one of the previous posters about cardio. Try adding more or higher intensity cardio into your workout. Walking is great exercise, but make sure you are walking at a quick pace (fast enough to get your heart going, but not so fast that you can't carry on a conversation with someone). If you walk on a treadmill, try speeding it up in intervals or try other equipment, like an elliptical or stationary bike with programmable intervals. Or, if you just work out at home and not a gym, try Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds videos. She does a lot of kicks and knee-lifts that are GREAT for exercising your abs and back muscles. If you're looking for something really fun and that you can make as high impact and you want, try Zumba or Jazzercise classes. I LOVED Jazzercise when there was a convenient class near me and would gladly go back and do it again in a heartbeat! (Jazzercise includes weights and flexibility in their routines, along with the cardio, so you really do get a great workout.)

slim fast does work, but there is no good pill in my eyes. they haven't been tested enough to use. just find another way, like more cardio. you shouldn't be a guinea pig for the pill company.

Slimfast is high in sugars, so I would avoid that for sure. In case you haven't heard of adaptogens, they are a category of herbs that help the body deal with stress, restore balance, and support normal metabolic processes. (A lot has been discussed recently about adaptogens, even Oz on Oprah). Often times stress causes us to overeat as well as produce excess cortisol (causes the body to store fat, esp. in the belly region). Adaptogens support weight management by regulating blood sugar, insulin metabolism, and cortisol levels; aid in digestion; and increase energy. In fact, adaptogens have the ability to shift the body's metabolism to a greater use of fat for energy.

To learn more about fast acting adaptogen sprays (Slim is wonderful for cravings and weight control) and watch "The Story of Adaptogens Documentary" 10 minute video, go to VitalHealth.TunguskaMist.com

You'll have more energy and endurance to work out with adaptogens. I would recommend increasing the cardio and continue with some serious weight training. Lean muscle mass helps speed up your metabolism, thus you'll burn more calories! Avoid fast foods, processed foods, and all soft drinks, (if you're not already). Drink plenty of water and eat smaller portions throughout the day. It sounds like you're off to a good start already with diet and exercise. The Slim will make a huge difference in reaching your goals faster. Not to mention it's got a money back guarantee!

2 great books that I recommend are: Living Lean, by Larry North and Adaptogens: Herbs for Strength, Stamina, and Stress Relief by Winston and Maimes.

I am working with a personal trainer right now and I hate to tell you this but he recommends 6 hr of cardio a week and at the minimum 2 hr of weights.
