Quick Decorating Idea Needed...

So my daughters room is finally starting to look like a room...lol She has pink carpet, pale blue walls, a pale blue comforter with pink and fuscia flowers on her bed, a coordinating quilt on her crib, and her furniture is my childhood bedroom set that I painted pink and antiqued it... I went to an antique shop the other day and got two wall sconce/shelf thingies...lol They look like plaster, maybe? They were gold, but I painted them the same pink/antique as the furniture... The are about 6 or 8 inches tall, and about 4 inches wide and 4"deep with three dimensional roses on them, and the platform/shelf at it's top is about 4"x 4"... I plan to flank the large mirror over the dresser with one on each side... So here's my question... (finally, right?) What would you put on them? I've been racking my brain trying to decide what would look "right" on them... Thoughts?

I would do small vases with colored feathers coming out. I'd put rhinestones on the feathers and matching rhinestones on the vases. I might throw some sparkly flowers in there too.

But I love rhinestones and feathers :)

This is where I would put something like a statue that represents important people in her life. Was she named after someone? Is there a family angel you want to watch over her? So for ex: Nana, her name sake - Alice loved horses - find a horse statue of her favorite breed. Or Aunt Sally, her godmother always wore a ribbon in her hair, craft a beatuiful bow/ribbon on a pedestal and have it up there.

I think a couple of miniature lava lamps (or glitter lamps) would be cool! They would be able to double as a night-light, and the motion of them might be soothing. Of course, the plugs might be an issue there... unless you can run the chords behind the dresser...?

Other than that, I would say some stuffed animals or dolls...

For now, teddy bears... later, an angel statue or a music box or a piece of pottery that she painted... eventually, whatever SHE wants ;)

Perhaps some old children's books, little knick-knacks that you will want out of reach of your child, a picture of her, or of the two of you. The room sounds really cute!

I vote for vases. I would get some rounded and small crystal ones...put in floers or feathers like the pp mentioned.

You don't say how old the child is. I had climbers for babies so putting something like that where they could access it would be a problem because they would climb to try to reach it and may get hurt in the process.

I would put perhaps some small teddy bears, ballerina's, rubber duck, stuffed frog, flowers without a vase. I would seriously consider not putting anything up there that could break if it fell.
