Hi Mama's do any of you have great recipes for cereal bars or healthy muffins (not cake in disguise :-) My lil guy is VERY PICKY but loves Kashi cereal bars. I've been trying to make more of our food myself and would love to find a healthy recipe that includes whole grains/very low sugar etc. I know there are tons of recipe sites but the volume of recipes are overwhelming to me. I am hoping to hear from you mama's who have already found a recipe you love to limit my attempts :-) Thanks for sharing.

What can I do next?

google chewy granola bars with dried fruit its mainly oats, different dried fruits and nuts you toast the oatmeal and nuts in the oven until the nuts smell nutty and then mix them with different dried fruits honey and you can even put some peanut butter and chocolate chips in them (best would be dark chocolate mini chips they are better for you) and put them in a greesed pan and let them set

I've used the one below (and my son LOVES it!). Cliff Bars makes an organic soft bar for kids called "Z Bars". They're so good, we all eat them. Target, Sam's & some grocery stores sell them. My son is partial to their Honey Graham.

I made pumpkin muffins this week and we all loved them! Canned pumpkin, oats, yogurt instead of butter, they were delicious! Here is the recipe:

1 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1 egg
2/3 light brown sugar (you might be able to find a sugar substitute online)
1/4 cup vegetable oil (I omitted this, they turned out fine and still delicious)
1/2 cup canned pumpkin
1/2 cup lowfat plain yogurt (I used what we had, which was my kids cherry yogurt, still delicious!)
1 cup uncooked oatmeal
1/2 cup golden or dark raisins (I omitted this as well because I have a baby and didn't want her to have them)

Preheat to 350. Grease muffin pan. Stir in everything but flour, oatmeal and raisins until blended. Stir in flour. Stir in oatmeal and raisins. Bake for 25 minutes.
