Recommend a Drugstore Brand of Foundation

So I have come to the realization after catching a glimpse of myself while passing a mirror in a department store that gone are the days where I can walk out of the house without a stitch of makeup on my face.:( Since I rarely wear anything unless it is a special occasion I need a recommendation for some foundation that won't cake up or look heavy. Something just to even out my skin tone. I would prefer a brand I can get at a drugstore...Avon and products like it I am sure are great, but I won't follow through with ordering from them. TIA!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I tried the physician's formula tinted moisturizer. I love it. It's exactly what I wanted. It evens me out and doesn't feel heavy on my face. It's a breeze to apply so I will be able to stick with it. Thanks for all the recommendations. I appreciate the help!

I highly recommend Revlon One-Step. It's feels like a liquid going on (with a little round sponge), but dries to a soft powder. It has good coverage, but isn't heavy. I used to wear Elizabeth Arden, which was $26 per compact. I just couldn't afford it anymore. The Revlon is about $11 or $12 depending on where you buy it, usually any drugstore, Wal-mart, or Target has it. I don't see much difference in EA or Revlon. Good luck! B. P.

I am like you and would never wear makeup except for special occasions or for work. I love Physicians Formula and use the tinted moisturizer. It's extremely light and doesn't cake at all.

I like Loreal, they have a new bare minerals powder. Some even have sunscreen. CVS, Walgreens, or Ulta run buy 1 get 1 free throughout the year.

I've used Cover Girl foundation forever. There are a lot of choices for how much coverage you want . . . and it's relatively cheap and available everywhere.

Bare Minerals. I think I got mine at JC Penny. Maybe it called Bare Essentials. I can't remember for sure. A little pricey but it's worth it. Let them do their mini-make over to give you ideas on how to best use all their products.

I get Maybelline's version of Bare Essentials. I don't see a big difference between the two brands besides the price.

I use Maybelline. It's actually not in a bottle but in a compact, like a powder but you smooth it on with the little pad. I am very fair & have been searching for the holy grail of foundation since high school! It's called Maybelline Purestay Powder. I like it because it doesn't give me that heavy feeling & it doesn't look like I have any on, very natural. It smoothes out my complexion & stays very well, almost my whole work day. My daughter inherited my fair skin & so she wears it as well. It costs between $7 & $9, depending where you go to buy it. I googled it & it was $7.49 on amazon. I buy it at walmart & cvs. I wear #30 but my daughter wears a shade darker. You might have to experiment with the shades to find your exact match. Good luck!

I've always liked the Revlon foundation. It's not very cakey and hasn't made me break out like other brands do. It's about $11 I think at Walmart.

Hi S.B.
Okay, not a drug store brand, but this one is super easy (I'm a lazy make-up applier):
Philosophy The Supernatural Airbrushed Canvas
http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml;jsessionid=3R...
I dislike the swirl, tap, buff routine of most mineral m.u. Not crazy about the results anyway. You might wanna check out the Philosophy brand. Available at Sephora.

Good luck & let us know if you find something we all need to try!!

I have been using the Loreal Infallible powder foundation - I was using Prescriptives but it was pretty pricey. The Loreal works great - isn't too heavy and lasts all day - and it's quick and easy - don't have to mess with foundation and then powder.

I have to second Bare Minerals! I could never find a foundation that looked right and was easy and fast to apply, until I found this. The shades are very forgiving, and the application is SO easy, you just can't do it wrong. I buy mine from QVC to get a better price, but I have to say that it does last a long time, so I don't mind paying a bit more. It looks really natural too, which was a big thing for me. ope that's a help! Merry Christmas!

I am now 45 years old and tried Everyday Minerals http://www.everydayminerals.com/ a few years back and LOVE it! I will NEVER go back to liquid again.
It applies so easy and only takes a second to brush on the foundation. It looks SO natural. It's great for making the skin color even. It's not expensive at all unlike most mineral lines and they have a great selection of colors and even carry a matte finish if you like it. I have big pores, oily skin and an olive tone, all of which are an issue to deal with using make up. They offer a great sample kit for free, all you pay for is the shipping which is only a few bucks. Their customer service is awesome too.
I really suggest you give them a try.
Best Regards,
C.
