Recommendations for Shopping Cart Covers

Hello,

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced shopping cart cover? There are not many reviews on this. I'm not looking for all the bells and whistles. Just something that will work on all cart sizes and will completely cover the cart. Having their own safety straps is a plus too as well as very low key print. The Baby Bargains book does not recommend Infantino. I'm interested in Baby Ease Clean Shopper - any thoughts?

What can I do next?

OOPS - I meant to write all were good recommendations! Had about 3.5 hrs of sleep last night! Thanks again.

Hi Everyone,

Thx so much for all the great responses. I didn't realize that picking one would be comparable to selecting a stroller! It was great to learn about all your resources. I'm getting closer to selecting one - there were several good recommendations.

I have been using a Floppy and I love how big and soft it is. I bought it on eBay for about $15 and it folds up nicely into it's own pocket.

go to ebay and type in "cart comforter". It converts to a blanket and also fits the costco double cart.

I have the Floppy Seat. It works the best...and I've tried a few other "cheaper" models. It covers everything completely and has a strap to put around your child also. I also use it on high chairs in restaurants. It folds into itself for easy carrying...definitely recommend it. At Babies R Us for $39.99.

You may be able to find a used one at a used kids store or on craigslist. I have a Floppy Seat: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2440415. I put it on my registry which was a good thing because I didn't want to pay full price for one.
I love it! My daughter is 2 1/2 and I still use it. It also fits on the bigger costco carts which is awsome - I have put my daughter in there when she was napping! It works well for us because when you are done with it you can just wad it up and throw it in the back of the car so it is always there when you need it.

I used the cover from Eddie Bauer. It didn't have any of the bells and whistles on it, but it covered the back, sides, and front bar of the shopping cart. It also came with safety straps and it tucks back into it's own attached bag. It worked really well.

I use a blanket, with a waterproof side on one side, and plush on the other. That way if the cart is wet or dirty, we don't have an issue ( good on a rainy day!) I sewed mine, but Woobee has some nice ones. It's so nice to just use a blanket. I had two and they never are one size fits all! A big square blanket works best.

Target has a nice Eddie Bauer cover that we have really liked. It fits standard size carts, but not really big or small ones. I think it is under $25. It washes really well and it has straps to tie the cover onto the cart and safety straps for the baby.

I like the Infantino 2-in-1 cart cover. It covers all sides, can be used for a high chair, and has loops to hook toys. You can get it at Walmart for about $26.00. I've been able to put it on the cart one handed. Yay! There are also straps to secure your child. Even though it says to machine wash and line dry, I've put it in the dryer with no problems.

I didn't like the Floppy seat because I couldn't take it out the bag one handed. It was impossible. This one has the plastic carry bag that you can use to store your cart cover.

Good luck in selecting a cart cover!

Hi E.,

The Floppy worked for me and my son also. It has a pocket to hide your keys in and loops to attach toys on. You can throw it in the wash when needed and folds into iself with handles for easy transitioning. They are about $40.00 at Toys R Us and well worth the money.

Hi E.~
I tried to get a less expensive cover - and I think it may have been the Infantino - but I didn't like it at all so I returned it and I ended up with this one from Floppy Seat http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2440415 based on a recommendation from a friend. It's more expensive but I just love it!! It is very cozy and seems to fit most carts - even Costco. It folds inside itself so it creates a little carrying bag and it has a saftey buckle to secure your little one. Be careful when drying it to not overdo it. It seems to shrink a little. Oh and it comes in blue and pink and I bought it at BabiesRUs. Good luck!

I agree with the Floppy. Works well in shopping carts & high chairs. It covers the entire shopping cart seating area. I have notice some of the covers out there only cover the front and back. Very easy to clean, just throw in the washer!!

As the previous post said, I also recommend the Floppy. It fits EVERYTHING, including the large, double seat carts at Costco. A big plus is that it also fits over restaurant high chairs. Ours has loops that you can attach links and toys which was nice. And after a year of use and many washes, it is in perfect shape when we have baby #2. Very versatile 2-in-1, shopping carts and high chairs.

I found a great one, I had it custom made and you can too. I love it. It fits everything, even high chairs at restaurants. The link to the mama that makes them is: http://hyenacart.com/debsbuggycovers/

I paid approx. $30 which included shipping and handling. She includes a pillow and a strap cover.

Deb is very personable and has a great turn-around. I got mine within a week of ordering.

I highly recommend this one.

I purchased mine at a place called Kids N Cribs in Brentwood, CA. It cost about $30 and well worth every penny. It not only fits in the grocery cart but also in a restaurant highchair. My mom just made hereslef one and beside the fact that she could pick out her own material, it costs more than what I paid by $5 plus her time and effort. Good Luck

I had an Infantino brand seat with my first daughter and really didn't like it - main complaint was that it didn't cover the sides of the cart. I plan on buying a Floppy this time around.

I love the pink floppy seat (39.99) at Babies R US. It works on all shopping carts and all restaurant high chairs. It goes in the washing machine and dryer, so it is very durable and works great.

The VERY BEST baby gift I received for my first (now 3 1/2 year old) was the Buggy Bagg. It's now in service again with my 5 month old. It's super soft/cushie and padded. There's a removable back/lumbar pillow. There are loops sewn into it that allow you to hook on toys. The rear flap has lots of zipper areas for cups, your keys, cell phone, etc. It's super big too and even fits on Costco carts. There are safety buckles that attach the cover to the cart, plus another buckle for the child. This is so comfortable that my 5 month old has even fallen asleep in it. I think it's a little pricier than many competitors, but it's well worth the money. You'll get many years of use out of this cover. http://www.buggybagg.net/ We have the denim and animal print one shown at the top.

Hi E.,

I use the Eddie Bauer one. I got it at Target for under $20.00 and I love it! It has it's own safety straps as well as little loops if you want to attach some toys. I have the blue one, but they also have a pink print.

Good Luck!

Another vote for the Floppy. It's very easy to use ... I was able to put it on the cart with one hand, holding our daughter in the other. Loved it!

I don't remember the exact site name, but if you type "germ free" and "cart cover" into google, I'm sure you can find it. The prints were cute and the covers arrived quickly. I needed to order multiple covers for my twins and another for a family member. All are in great condition. They were about $24 plus $7 for shipping (approx), a discount for multiple items.

Have you look at Babies R us? They have one called the Floppy seat that works on all shopping carts and also high chair at restaurants. They have their own seat belts and two pockets to put anything you want---snacks, keys or bottles. It folds up into a bag with straps. It only comes in red or blue when I bought it. I'm sure you can look for it online. Good luck!

I got a great one on ebay last year. She has an auction right now. I used the Thomas fabric but there's lots of girly choices. I've loved mine. It works great on every cart I've tried it on. They are about $31.

Hi E.! I have a clean shopper. It covers the seat area, the sides, and the shopping cart handle. It has it's own removable seat belt. It has two pockets and two loops to connect toys to. It fits in all carts, even the costco carts. I can put it on with one hand while holding my daughter in the other. It has been through two kids and is still in great shape. I love it! You can order them from www.cleanshopper.com. The regular cover is $29.95. They have the regular cover, an extra soft cover, disposable covers, and covers for twins. They even have a clean diner for high chairs. The website shows all the covers in actual carts, so you can see what they cover. They also have customer reviews, so you can see what other moms think too!

Hi E.,
I recently purchased the "Shopping Cart Cover" by Infantino from BabyCenter.com. I really like it. It's easy to use and it fits over shopping carts and high-chairs in restaurants. I have followed a lot of recommendations from Baby Bargains, but this one doesn't hold true for me.

Good luck shopping!
