Hello,

My husband needs to have his wisdom teeth removed and I was hoping someone might have a good recommendation. Anywhere in Chicagoland would be great! I had a bad experience with this and want a better one for him. Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

I was so scared to get my wisdom teeth pulled, I put it off forever, and the teeth were literally cracking. When I finally went to see Dr Wall, he was so nice and answered all my questions. The actual pulling of the teeth was a piece of cake! And because I was breastfeeding at the time, I had it done with just novicane. It didn't hurt a bit and it was over quickly. I would highly recommend him. Good luck to your husband!

Hi K.,
I have a wonderful oral surgeon. His name is Dr Michael Lauck, his office is 360 W. Butterfield in Elmhurst. His number is ###-###-####. I work at Elmhurst Hospital and know him well. I just had my wisdom teeth pulled by him a few months ago (I'm 48yrs). My son also had teeth pulled by him. He is very gentle and puts you at ease. He is really a down to earth Dr. He takes time with his patients answers all your questions and concerns. I also know Dr Wolf in Elmhurst, had to use him in an emergency situation, never again. Both him and his staff are all businees. Good Luck.

Hi K.,

I am a periodontist in Glen Ellyn and highly recommend Dr. Michael Scherer in Wheaton. He is a D.D.S., M.D. so not only did he attend dental school, but he also completed a six year residency in oral surgery and medicine (he is a medical doctor as well). Mike has a great bedside manner and is very gentle. My patients that my husband (general dentist) and I send to him are always very satisfied. The office is on Roosevelt Road (South Side of the street) in Wheaton right next to the Wheaton Nursery just East of Naperville Road. Best of luck to your husband with the wisdom teeth!

I went to Dr. Chemello. I was terrified and he was wonderful. He put my at ease the moment I walked in.

No problems afterward either. I had all four pulled at once.

Hi! My husband and I both had our wisdom teeth pulled from Dr. Steven Marshall on 22nd St just west of La Grange Road in La Grange!!! He was WONDERUL!!! Neither of us ever had a problem and we were both eating pizza and/or popcorn THAT NIGHT. We probably werent supposed to, but.......That just goes to show how good we felt afterwards. I took 1 Vicodin when I got home figuring I'd start the pain meds BEFORE the numbness wore off - that was it! Never took another Vicodin again....just Tylenol every so often. Seriously, this man is amazing! You won't be disappointed! Good luck!

Dr. Stith on Randall in Geneva did my two teens, and is great. Our dental office also uses Drs. Kruzan and Kloberdanz in St. Charles, and Dr. Haddle in downtown Geneva. They're all good. Good luck!

If you want to ensure he doesn't have a bad experience then he should be fully sedated with general anesthesia. All oral surgeons are qualified to perform extractions under general anes. I would definately reccomend an Oral Surgeons office for the extractions wether or not he is sedated, they are extremely proficient with difficult extractions. The downside is you have to pay for their education and experience, but I think it is well worth it.
