I have started a network of women who own their own business and need to find locations in Plano and Allen to have meetings. Casual dining restaurant that has a seperate room to have a dinner meeting. The count would be around 10 to 20 people.

I'd try Mimi's, Brio and Texas Land and Cattle. I know they all have sections that accommodate private parties.

I just attended a meeting last night held at the Chocolate Angel on Campbell between Coit and Custer. ITs in Richardson, but the food is incredible (essentially its a tea room) with wonderful service - they closed down the restaurant for us. I dont know how far out of Plano you might be willing to go - if the location is ok, Id highly recommend it. www.chocolateangel.com

How can I join this group?? I live in Garland, but would be willing to drive to Plano or Allen.
Try Golden Corral. They usually have a room that is partitioned off if you need it for private parties.

The Original Pancake House on the 121 between Plano and Frisco has a separate room. They are open very early in the morning, but not at night.

Hi L.. I don't have a restaurant recommendation, however, I wanted to let you know about a group for Mothers/Business Owners I'm a part of, and invite you to the Career Exploration Expo the group is sponsoring (particularly since your goal is to get out of Corporate America).

The group is the North Texas Network of Enterprising Women (NEW). It is a group of women who are mothers and independent business owners. We support each other through building strategic relationships, networking, co-op marketing, etc... You can read more about us at www.ntxnew.org

We are hosting a Career Exploration Expo on Tuesday, September 16th from 7pm - 9pm. It is for women who are looking for business opportunities, part-time/contract work opportunities and/or women who just want to talk with other women who own their own businesses. Check out the website and you can find out more information on the event, and which businesses will be exhibiting.

Again, visit www.ntxnew.org for more info.

To RSVP for the event, send an email to ____@____.com

Best of luck.

Sincerely,

K.

I sell Southern Living At Home and our team meets at Spaghetti Warehouse in Plano. They have a separate room that we meet in and it holds way more than 20 people. The one time they double booked the room, we were in another part, and it wasn't that busy either.

Hey L., It's Missy with Once Upon A Family. I'm in a weekly networking group based in Allen that meets Wednesday lunches from 11:30a-1:00p

Here are the meeting room options in the Allen area that I've researched previously and we were looking for a place to meet, the key is to find a place that's not so busy in the evenings so booking a meeting room will be cost effective and not a difficult task:

Verona's Italian restaurant inside Stacy Furniture - We meet there currently during lunch and have a $10 price point if you don't eat and a $15 price point if you do eat
IHOP
Twin Creeks Golf Club
Ralph and Kakoos - They have two meeting rooms, one smaller and one larger depending on how many attendees
That should get you started.

When you find a spot, have a "contract" in writing stating when and where you'll be meeting at what time so you can GUARANTEE the meeting spot always, state what the menu options are and what the price per person will always be SET IN STONE. I would recommend having the General Manager sign it along with another manager of the store so it's a known deal within the restaurant. Set the contract for 6 month cycles. Also if you want to have access to the business materials such as a projector and whatnot, make sure that is "included" in the contract that you set so it's not an additional surprise charge later if management will allow it.

I would be willing to host at my place for a more cost effective meeting venue if this is an option???

Call me when you have chance.

Hey L.,
This is Lonie I. One of the associations I belong to has their meetings at Tino's (Mexican food) in the Collin Creek mall in Plano. They have a separate room from the resteraunt. It's not a fancy place but it will hold that many people and the pricing is reasonable although you'll have to call them to find out what it is.

There's a Spring Creek BBQ on Preston just north of Stonebriar (I know that's Frisco, but not terribly too far north of Plano). Those restaurants usually have a banquet room you can reserve. The nice thing about Spring Creek is people can get as much or as little food as they want (or, if BBQ isn't their thing, they can attend the meeting without having to order anything).
