We moved from Fremont to Pleasanton in November and used a company out of Dublin called Movers-PakMan. Although they weren't the cheapest they were very competitive and had a not to exceed clause. This means that they gave us a worst case scenario estimate. If the time exceeded their estimate, then that would be their loss. If the time to move was less than the estimate, we would be pay only for the time it took. They charge per hour per mover. Prior to the move an estimator came out and gave us an estimate to pack us up or just move. We opted to pack most of our stuff and they showed up the day of the move ready to go. They have well trained and respectable movers. They worked fast and wrapped all the furniture. They even helped pack some misc items that were left. Upon arrival to our new home, they put all the items where we wanted and reassembled the furniture. All in all the process went smoothly. There were only two issues. One, in the new house they hit a corner and knocked of some sheet rock. They offered someone to come and repair it, at no cost to us. However, since it was a new construction, we had some other items that needed to be completed so the contractor took care of it. Two, I didn't realize until a week or two later but one wardrobe box was missing. Since they provided us with the wardrobe boxes I thought they forgot it on the truck. I called them to locate it but unfortunately we didn't have any luck. Now, I'm not sure where it was misplaced, considering it was a big box, but we never found it. We filed a claim and got a small check since we got the minimum insurance. Considering this two issues, I would use them again. We have moved many times before and this was by far the smoothest. Good Luck!

We used Bekins when we moved to Castro Valley and they did a good job. My main advice is to be dilligent about having them put covers down on the carpet. Unfortunately there were some grease stains but aside from that they did a good job with the move.

Hello,

We moved in February and used a wonderful company called Crown Worldwide Moving and Storage. They sent a representative to our house to give us a quote and they will not charge over that amount. The quote is the most that you would have to pay. They are very professional and extremely nice. On the day of the move, the movers were amazing. They put floor runners down and covered all the walls. I would highly recommend this company.

Their email address is www.crownwms.com.

Best of luck on the move!

I don't have one to recommend but wanted to tell you to stay away from Graebel. They moved us 2 1/2 years ago and it was the worst move we've ever had (and we've moved a dozen times). They broke or lost just about every item!

Good luck with your move! :)
