Hello MOM's I am looking for a private inexpensive place to hold a reception for my husbands grandfathers funeral. His family does not have a suitable place, homes are not an option because no one gets a long. Anyone have any ideas for Ontario, Rancho or upland area's??

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks so much to all of you!!!!! I have convinced my mother in law to do it at home. I really felt that the comfort of home after such an emotional day was best. I just could not see going anywhere else. I appreciate all the time you took to help me!!!

Not sure if you belong to any of the local churches but they sometimes offer their halls for funeral receptions. Might want to check with them.

Hi J.:
Wowww your really pressed for (time) You have your hands full with the kids and are suppose to plan this to? The best I can come up with at this short notice,is one of your local hotels or inns in Ontario. Call and ask, if they have a free banquet room for a small reunion of family and friends? Tell them this is all last minute, but you need their help. Alot of places will work with you, under the circumstances, and they may even give you a break on food service. The best of luck, and my condolences to you and your husband.

I agree, check the local churches or hotels. Also, check with the local cities: Claremont has Taylor Hall & more, Rancho Cucamonga has meeting rooms at the new Central Park & the Lions Centers, Upland has the George M. Gibson Center; it's possible you might be able to use the auditorium of one of the high schools. Fraternal organizations are good too - I know there's a Moose Lodge in Upland, etc. Depending upon how big your family is, the banquet room of a restaurant might work as well. If all else fails, use the picnic area of a local park. Honestly, your funeral home should be advising you. Good luck & God Bless you and your family during this difficult time!
