I have a two year old daughter who is very active and wants to do things but i have no clue of what places are ok so that she can be with kids her age and also learn somehing new like gymnastics or ballet since she loves walking on her tip toes. So if anyone could give me the name of some places near fort worth or river oaks even near ridgmar that i could take my little one.

What can I do next?

Churches are also another good resource in terms of various facilities as well as mommy's day out programs, and knowing what other opportunities exist in the immediate area. When my kids were younger I had a membership at a health club that had a very cool indoor play area for children so while haphazard in terms of which children would be dropped at the play center on any given day or time, your daughter would have tons of fun climbing and playing with other things and other children.

Check out your local recreation center. They always have little people classes for great prices. They usually do gymnastics, cheerleading, art/crafts, painting, reading, mommy and me classes, etc.

My 2 year old is also very active, as is her 4 year old sister. I wanted something fun, cheap, and close to us for them and wasn't finding what I wanted, so I'm starting a free ballet and fun creative movement class at one of the Fort Worth community centers. It's for kids 2-5 and will be held once a week on saturday mornings. If you're interested in more details email me.

You didn't say where you are located. Texas Tumblers in Haltom City is a gym where my daughter attends All Star Cheerleading. They offer tumbling classes for very small children and they do a great job with them! Our cheerleaders start out as young as 3! Go to www.txtumblers.com for more infomation. They are located off Denton Hwy and Watauga Rd. Wonderful Christian owners and the whole staff is amazing. We love our gym!

Hi C.,
My name is Pat, I'm the mother of 3 grown children and grandmother of 3. I have also been an in-home daycare provider for the past 15 yrs. Over the years I have taken children to the Hurst Recreation Ctr. and found a number of classes that 2 yr.olds can take ie. tumbling, dance, etc. The great thing about rec ctrs. is that the sessions aren't very long (6-8 weeks) and classes are about 30-45 min. They are inexpensive and this way if your child isn't interested you haven't invested a whole lot of money. Also, check out your library for storytime, they usually do stories with puppets, sing and dance. You will also meet other parents and you can get leads from them. At least some play dates for your daughter. Good luck!
