I am new to the area and am in need of a christian church to attend. I would like one that caters to children as well as adults. I have an 8 year old and a 16 month old that I would like to have a great worship experience not only on Sundays, but also other days of the week. I am used to a church with special events such as movie nights and weekly bible studies. If you know of a church that might work for me please let me know. I appreciate it.

Hi Angee,

It sounds like the church we attend is exactly what you are looking for. London Bridge Baptist Church is on Potters Rd. and they have the AWANA programs for children and also the adult programs during the week and on Sundays. We love it there! Our son is 2 and he has a great time and is learning so much.

Hi A.!

We just moved here in November and go to Wave Church. http://www.wavechurch.com/ It's very contemporary, very fun! The kids Kindergarten and older stay in the worship part of service and then they're dismissed after the offering. My 4 year old loves the music and I'm glad she doesn't have to miss out. There are tons of things we do during the week as well. Lots of cell groups to choose from, women's bible study every other week, etc. It's a large church, but very easy to get to know people. Let me know if you have any questions about it. We have a South Beach location that's just down from Oceana. It meets in the Regal Cinemas just off General Booth. Our main campus is off of Great Neck and Old Donation in Virginia Beach. Not far from you at all. We bounce back and forth between the two because my husband plays the drums at South Beach every other week or so. Hope to see you there!

We've been attending Springbranch Community Church (http://www.springbranch.org) for almost 2 years and we love it!! It is a contemporary church with an incredible love for the children in its congregation. My son is in the Waddler room (1-2yrs) of "Promiseland" and loves it ... the volunteers are consistent so he feels very comfortable with them. I believe your 8yo would be in "PromiseKids" but I'm not sure ... it's based on grade. The church has 3 services (Sat 6pm, Sun 9am & 11:15 with something similar to "Sunday school" at 10am). You can even listen to a recent sermon online to see if it's for you. Good luck finding a "home"
