We are moving to the Allen area (75 and Exchange) in the next month and I'm looking for a daycare/montessori/mdo program in that area. I have a 3 and 4 year old that will be attending. Any recommendations would be great please.

What can I do next?

You can not do better than Twin Oaks Private School.
The owners have been around for over 15 years and they are great. Their names are Kristy and Misty (twin sisters).

They are very involved in childcare.
Lewt them knwo that M. referred you.

Thank You
good Luck

I am not familar with Allen child care but I can tell you if your children are 3 & 4 that is PRE-SCHOOL age and you can not find a better pre-school program than Primrose. They are a Private Preschool and they focus on education. They are accredicated and have an excellent program. My Primrose experience is with the Primrose School of Forest Creek they are located at Coit and Hedgcoxe in Plano. I think you should give Primrose a try. www.myprimroseschool.com/forestcreek

We recently moved our kids to Primrose and we are amazed at the change that has occurred in only 2 months time. They are 4 years old and attend the Pre-K program. Their class sizes are very small (about 12 kids) and they are thriving BIGTIME. We hesitated moving them to Primrose initially due to the cost, but it has more than exceeded our expectations. We have them at the one in East Allen (Exchange Pkwy & Angel Pkwy). Good luck

We have recently moved from Allen, but there are some good choices. You should definitely go and see the centers and ask alot of questions. Take your time and look at the children, the staff and the rooms carefully to get a good first instinct.

Creme de la Creme off 75 and McDermott is pricey but has lots of bells and whistles, very secure, VERY clean, always new toys and books.

Primrose is also a great school off 75 and McDermott on Tatum.

There's a new Montessori that opened off 75 and Exchange as you head toward Watters. We looked there when we were moving up farther north of where we were. They seemed very nice and very clean, but didn't offer the type of curriculum we were looking for.

Everyone has their own experiences and opinions, but I went into Twin Oaks and Holly Oaks in Allen and personally, I wonder how they are still open. You should go visit places and see for yourself. Everyone has stories...hopefully you'll get enough feedback to start looking. You can also go on the dfps website or child care licensing and bring up your new zip and it will give you a listing of the daycares in the area.

Good luck!

Twin Oaks Private School is a joke. The curriculum is identical in all classes (18mo to 3 yrs). They never actually let the children use the computers provided. Most of the time the kids are sitting watching TV. The only good point was that the 18 mo teacher (foreigner w/ an accent...Russian?) was great with children...I wish I had gotten her number. I would try Primrose or Children's Choice.

My son has been at Twin Oaks for 3 years now and he loves it, and I love it. It's a warm family like feeling being there. I have no worries while I'm busy at work wondering if my son is safe. They have an awesome program and have been in the business for years.

Hope this helps.
