i was just recently diagnosed with 2 large nodules on my thyroid gland which need to be biopsied. Does anyone know of a terrific ENT in the St. Charles/Elgin area? Anyone ever had this procedure done? I am a little freaked out about needles in my neck and the possible results! Thank you in advance for all replies!!

The ENT I saw when I had to have a cholesteatoma removed, and have those tiny little bones and ear drum reconstructed, wasn't in the St. Charles area either. He's actually a pediatric ENT,but has adult patients as well. He's in Bloomingdale, just outside Stratford Mall, on Gary Avenue. He's Dr. Stuart Morgenstein, and he's incredible. ###-###-####

Dr. Nikil Bhatt is the BEST!
###-###-#### Assoc. in Ear Nose & Thoat, Elgin

My son was practically deaf. Dr. Bhatt removed his tonsils & put tubes in his ears. Problems continued and tubes were put in / removed / replaced four times (ages 3 - 6) and finally removed again at age 10. During this whole time, Dr. Bhatt kept close tabs on my son and tested his hearing at least every 3-6 months. In addition, my son had speech class in preschool through 5th grade. By 7th grade he became an honor student. As an adult, he is now an engineer! None of this would have happened without Dr. Bhatt's professional care and treatment for all of those childhood years!

Seven other family members have since become patients of Dr. Bhatt, as chidren and adults. My 3 year old grandson is showing many of the same syptoms that my son did. Dr. Bhatt will be putting tubes in his ears soon.

You can't go wrong with Dr. Bhatt and anyone in his office!
In addition to his practice, Dr. Bhatt now teaches laser surgery.

Hi,

We go to Dr. Byskosh at Delnor. He has his own practice and is a very friendly, thorough and knowledgeable doctor. He has done two surgeries on my daughter (tubes and a T&A). I trust him. He has also treated me for a cyst on my larynx and allergies (for my daughter too).

http://www.entallergyclinic.com/Physician.htm has his contact info and information about him. Hope this helps!

I had a thyroid biopsy in December 2007. I went to Dr. Theresa Lee, a general surgeon, with a lot of experience with endocrine surgery. She is part of the Dupage Medical Group. You can find her info here:

http://www.dupagemedicalgroup.com/doctors_in/dupage_medic...

Before meeting with Dr. Lee, I had to maintain a low sodium diet for a couple weeks, which was actually pretty difficult. Who knew how much salt is in everything?? Anyway, Dr. Lee performed the biopsy, she was quick and I was under the impression that she was very experienced with the procedure. I have to say, however, that the biopsy is uncomfortable, and you may want to bring a friend with you, especially if you are a little nervous.

Dr. Lee was nice and professional, but not terribly informative/talkative. I was comfortable with her b/c of her experience.

Good luck. From what I understand, the vast majority of these nodules are benign (mine was).

The BEST ENT is not in St. Charles. He's the best around and I believe he's in Downers Grove. Dr. Dino Delicata.

I was referred to him because my other doctors said he was the best and was worth traveling for.

I happen to agree.

The Allergy, ENT that we used for our son for his seasonal allergies was amazing. Due to insurance, we needed to switch, but he is great. Really, really nice guy and very thorough. Good Luck! http://www.allergyentdoc.com/

Hi L.,

I also have nodules on my thyroid, which are not quite ready for biopsy but I'm under the care of one of the best for thyroid issues. His name is Dr. Paloyan and he is out of Hinsdale. He is a surgeon as well and would do the biopsy. He came Highly recommended to me and he monitors me very closely. Let me know if you want his contact information. You could even google him under Edward Paloyan, Hinsdale IL. It's a bit of a drive but right off 294 and Ogden. I would only trust the best with that area of the neck and he is one of them.

If you want to travel a little bit, Dr. Jagasia in Aurora is excellent. He has worked with all 3 of my children and he has the best bedside manners of any doctor I have ever met. He truly cares about the patient and family members and that is hard to find these days. He works for Dreyer so if your insurance would except, it would well be worth the drive.
