Seeking Help for Husband with Psoriasis

My husband has Psoriasis and it continues to get worse all the time. We have tried a lot of natural alternatives with no success. On the other hand we are not ready to start the drugs for this due to the side effects. We are trying to have another baby and i just don't want to take any chances with our fertility health. Cancer is one of the side effects with these drugs and that is really scary to both of us. I was researching narrow band light therapy and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this. It looks like a stand up tanning bed (but doesn't tan) and from what I read, most insurance companies will cover it with a doctor's prescription. Has anyone ever had a doctor's prescription for this???? If so, what doctor wrote it? I live in the Plano area and would like to get another opinion on this. I am open to any and all suggestions. The Psoriasis is starting to cover his entire back, scalp, chest and is starting to move down his limbs. We are getting so frustrated and I feel so bad for him. Please help.

Hi S.,

Has your husband tried any Arbonne products? Both of my children have eczema (or should I say "had" eczema) and I tried many creams trying to get rid of it. I didn't want them on any medications, but I thought I'd tried everything and was about to ask their pediatrician for a prescription. Then, I was introduced to Arbonne. It cleared up their eczema within days. Now, 8 months later, they are still doing great! Arbonne also has some product recommendations for psoriasis. If you're interested in trying the products for a couple of weeks (no charge or obligation), I'd be more than happy to share. I know how awful it is to see your loved ones suffering. It's worth a try...You can reach me at ____@____.com

If you do decide to see a dermatologist, I agree with one of the other mamas' postings. Dr. Elizabeth Dolan is a wonderful Doctor and person. I switched to her from another dermatologist about 6 months ago to have her remove a mole. She has a wonderful personality and work ethic, and doesn't mind if you have to bring your kids to your appointment.

Good luck!

Sincerely,
Jacqueline

Hi S.! I represent a European Health and Wellness company called Arbonne International. I have several adult and child clients who have suffered from Eczema and Psoriasis. They all swear by Arbonne's Baby Care Hair and Body Wash, Body Oil and Body Lotion. It has changed the lives of my clients who have suffered from these painful skin conditions. Apparently Eczema and Psoriasis are not conditions that you can "cure" per se, but you can definitely control with the proper products. If you're at all interested in trying some samples for your husband, I'd be more than happy to send you some. You can also do more research online about these products at my website: www.mandyolsen.myarbonne.com or www.arbonne.com. Good luck finding something that works for you!

My husband went and saw dermotologist Elizabeth Dolan. She is located in Garland off of Belt Line. She used some sort of light rays as you have described on his knee's, elbows, and his hair. It worked incredibly. It has been 2 years now and I notices just the other day that there was just now starting to get a little back no his elbows. But wow it worked for 2 years and our insurance covered it. She also gave him a cream and a mouse sort of stuff for his hair and then any other spots. The mouse stuff worked really well also. I would strongly recommend her. She didn't mess around and went right to work with him. Giving him samples and only prescribing them if they actually worked.

Good Luck

I have a good friend who during her breast cancer radiation had HORRIBLE psoriasis! She used Melaleuca's Renew lotion. She also did several other things and cleared it up 100% and she doesn't battle it at all anymore. Feel free to call me, it is much easier to talk on the phone then to type all everything that helped her! :)###-###-####

Try accupuncture. It's great for psoriasis. My man has pretty serious issues with it as well. It's not an overnight cure but a maintnence thing ... Olux is his overnight cure for facial areas when needed. No natural remedy works overnight but good luck.

Hi there! My daughter had a bad case of this on her scalp and her arms. We were told to use a dab of green tea tree oil on the sores. Amazingly it worked. No scars were left and really not expensive. I hope it works for your husband like it did for my daughter.

Have your husband tested for Celiac Sprue. This is a very common side effect of Celiac and if he is Celiac more than likely just a diet change will take care of most of the Psoriasis. Go to www.entrolab.com to read more about easy testing.
