Hello ladies,
My husband and I are expecting our first baby, Oct 22, 2008. I need to find a pediatrician for him (yes it's a baby boy) as soon as possible. I am looking for this individual within the Ft. Worth TX area. He/she must be associated with Childrens Cooks hospital. If you know of someone that you highly recommend and know whether or not they are accepting new patients, please let me know. I would like to meet with him/her to make sure we are a good fit. Thanks in advance.

Hi there. We have a 8 month old daughter and I have a friend who is a drug rep for pediatrics in the Ft. Worth area and highly recommended Dr. M.Carol Brennan with the Cook's Childrens Network. She practices outside Harris SW off Bryant Irvin. Good luck - we have enjoyed her.

I would highly recommend my 9 month old son's pediatrician, Dr. Frank McGehee. He is with Cook Children's, and his office is in the hospital district in Fort Worth. I am not sure if he is accepting new patients, but here is the contact info:

I'm not sure where in Ft Worth you are, but my pediatrician is Dr Shori in Southlake. She is wonderful. ###-###-####. Be sure your pediatrician has privileges at the hospital where you are delivering. Also, ask your OB for a recommendation.

Hi A.,

Fort Worth Pediatrics is great. (www.fortworthpediatrics.com) We use their office off of University and I-30 on Merrimac Circle. All of the 5 doctors in the practice are great. My husband and I went in for a meeting about 2 months before our son was born and liked them much more than anyone else we meet with. It also turns out that I was a patient of this patrice years ago. The practive has a night and weekend clinic for sick visits which is really helpful because kids always seem to get sick at night or on the weekend. They do the clinic because they know your child's history and would rather see them than have you take them to emgerency. As far as I know they are accepting new patients but you can always call to find out. The practice does have 2 other locations in Fort Worth but I have not been to either of those.

Good luck in your search!!

Hi, several other mom's have already posted the same answer, but Fort Worth Pediatrics in SW Fort Worth is great. We have used Dr. J. Ben Worsely for almost 8 years and just adore him. He gets on their level to talk to my kids and to examine them. When they were younger, most of their exams were with them sitting on my lap. He's even bent down on the floor to check them before instead of making them set on the table kicking and screaming.

Dr Jay Murphy at Ft Worth Pediatrics is FANTASTIC. I believe he is still taking new patients. The office number is ###-###-#### (his office is off of 30-University). He is associated w/Cooks & his office has weekend hours, too.

I wouldn't take my kids to anyone else....he's the best!

I use Dr Audrey Rogers at Forest Park Pediatrics. Her office is located on University across from the Ft Worth Zoo. Her practice is part of the Cook Children's network. She is great with the kids and even better at answering any questions that I might have. They also have an after hours answering service that can help you in middle of the night.
Congratulations on the baby and good luck with finding a pediatrician.

I would recommend Fort Worth Pediatrics, they have numerous locations, I personally go to the Merrimac Circle clinic which is off of University. I was able to interview my doctor before my daughter was born. Our Dr. is Dr. J. Murphy but we have seen most of the other partners in the practice and all have been very kind and helpful. My children are 13 & 11 and still go see him. He tells me that he has to tell his "college" age patients(who have gone to him since birth) that they need to start looking for a new Dr. I'm not sure if they are accepting new patients but they are associated with Cooks. Their office number is ###-###-####. Good Luck

Dr. Ramiro David Cavazos on South Henderson is a great pediatrician. His is associated with Fort Worth Pediatrics and has priveleges with Cooks Children's Hospital. ###-###-####. His office has weekend hours until noon both Saturday and Sunday. They only see urgent cases but they are available to give advise over the phone until you can get your child seen on Monday. I have never had a problem getting my son seen on the same day he is out of school. Good luck.

I use Dr. Shams Karimi at Cook's Children's Clinic in North Richland Hills. It is on Boulevard 26 (formerly Grapevine Highway). She has been my daughter's doctor since she was born almost 9 years ago. The great thing is if she is unavailable the other doctor in her office will gladly see her. I highly recommend Dr Karimi.

We are using Dr. Frank McGehee. He is located off of Rosedale across from Cooks Hospital. He is awesome. My kids love him and we love him. He speaks to the kids in a way that makes them feel comforatble and explains what he is doing to them. His staff is excellent.

I will also second Dr. Young. He was Dr. McGehee's partner when our first born came. We have seen him on a few occasions and he was wonderful as well.

My kids is Jullee Morrow--across the street from Harris SW off Bryant-Irvin. Love the way she is so thorough and talks to my kids. The staff is also great and answer phone calls promptly. I changed to her about 6 years ago from FW Pediatrics because of 2 misdiagnoses by our former pediatrician that caused us a lot of grief and an unnecessary surgery.

I am expecting my little boy on October 24! It's funny, I just got off the phone with the pediatrician I am going to use, Dr. John Young. My aunt has worked in his office for a very long time and my cousin has taken both her little girls to him, and they have nothing to say but good things about him! I am delivering at The Andrews Womens Hospital at Baylor All-Saints and another doctor, Dr. Turner, will actually meet us at the hospital. Dr. Young is affliated with Harris Southwest, but they are both in the same network, so we will go to Dr. Young 3 days after we get home. The number to his office is ###-###-####.

All the best!!

Dr. Alice Phillips at Cook Children's Cityview across from Harris Methodist. I do not know if she is accepting new patients or not. My guess is that she would be, and she is wonderful with children, very thorough and happy to answer any questions/concerns you may have.
