Seeking Pediatrician in Keller Area

My son currently goes to Kid Care Pediatrics for his medical care. We only visit once or twice a year and for those general visits the clinic is okay, but I'm not overly "thrilled" with it. I am getting ready to have a baby girl in 4 weeks. Has anyone tried the new A-1 Pediatric clinic in Keller on Alta Vista? Any comments on this clinic or any others in the area that are great?

What can I do next?

We just moved here in Feb and chose Kid Care on a whim and I'm not so thrilled either. They keep telling me that it's "normal" for my 19 mo old son to get sick every few weeks and he's not even in daycare. I actually suggested a medication for him that my older one takes and the doc goes "Oh YEEAHH!" Seriously?!
I live near the Alta Vista office and was wondering about them as well!

We also unhappy with Kid Care and left their clinic. Our son goes to Cook's in Southlake and sees Dr. Nichols. Dr. Knapp is his associate and we also really like him. Southlake might be farther than you wanted to drive but we are very pleased. We get in right away, their office is clean, the staff is organized, prompt return phone calls, and we hardly ever see a different doctor. Good luck. We had a ton of bad experiences with Kid Care and I know how frustrating it can be.

Dr. Hampton is really great - she is with Cook Children's next to Tom Thumb on 1709/Rufe Snow.

I personally really love Dr. Gomez at Kid Care - we have a good relationship with him. I really like Dr. Fricker and Dr. Leffel as well. I am sorry some of y'all have had less than positive experiences there.

I work at Baylor Grapevine and see all the pediatricians in the area (from being in the nursery).

I checked out A1 Kids Doc on Alta Vista today. I called this morning and got in this afternoon for both of my kids wellness checkups. Dr. Dhaliwal was very nice! He was thorough and gave me some background on his and his wife's practice- he's the pediatric dr and his wife is the family practician. Their goal is to provide medical care for the whole family (with separate waiting rooms for adult patients and children patients). The nurse and receptionist were very friendly as well. The nurse was very patient trying to explain the hearing test and waiting for my kids to decifer the symbols on the vision chart.

I called KidCare to make an appointment and the phone lady was rude. And even though the website said they took our insurance, rude phone lady said they did not.

I called Dr. Mangham's office but the soonest they could get us in for new patient wellness checkups was the middle of September.

Hope this helps!!!

We use Southlake Family Medicine off 1709 and LOVE them. We've been there almost 5yrs and our main pedi is Dr O'brien but they are all great Dr's! We have never not been able to get in same day for something urgent.

As for the Kid Care clinic we would never use them because since we moved to Keller they are constantly hiring. I swear they've been trying to hire LVN/MA's forever. Why don't nurses want to work there? Or why is the turnover rate so high? Kinda of like that Southlake Vet on 1709 as well..it's never not hiring..that says something about the way they operate..
