I am looking for a playgroup for my daughter, she will be 3 at the end of the month. We just moved here and we (especially me) would like to meet people and kids in the area. I work part time and on my days off would love to meet with other moms and kids in the area. I live in the Crestwood area but are willing to step out of my neighborhood to meet new people.
Thanks and hope to meet you soon!

What can I do next?

I highly recommend MOMS Club - http://swstlcountymomsclub.webs.com
We have about a dozen events every month, and our chapter is right in your area! Sometimes we go to places like the zoo, science center, Grant's Farm, Magic House, etc. or other times we just go to a nearby playground or somebody's house. Once a month we have a social where there is plenty of room for everyone, so the moms can talk and the kids can play. We also do Moms Night Out!! I have made some great friends, had lots of fun, and learned a lot too. I hope you will check it out!
Here's another group - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sahmsclubstlouis
It tends to be more e-mail and less in-person meetups, but they do have events from time to time.
In both groups, the moms are wonderful people. If you join either of them, please let me know. I would love to be able to personally welcome you.

If you live in Crestwood, then you are in the Lindbergh School District, which has a great Parents as Teacher program. They have lots of scheduled play activities, which is a great way to meet moms in your area. If you haven't signed up for PAT yet, you should. They actually have a free evening at the Magic House tonight for Lindbergh residents (6pm-8pm). You can call the Lindbergh early childhood center at ###-###-####. I would call today, if you want to go to the magic house tonight. :)

I met lots of moms by attending PAT functions and by signing my daughter up for classes (like gymnastics & dance) at Whitecliff. Almost all the moms you meet will live in the Crestwood area. Good luck!

Since you live in Crestwood, you are in the Lindbergh School District. Check out their Parents As Teachers Program. It is quite extensive and goes up through Kindergarten age. They have alot of activities, many which are free, and you would get to know people in your area. Call them or check out their website as it is quite good.

Hi, Kesa...you might consider looking at a class such as Kindermusik. It provides musical learning w/children of similar age and their caregivers - singing, dancing, simple instruments - and meeting other people. You can find an Educator in the area at www.Kindermusik.com
Have fun! ~L.
