I am looking for a pair of shoes for my daughter. She has super-sensitive feet. She dislikes the support at the back of the heel on tennis shoes so we have to look for heels that have no extra padding. In the past we have bought her gently used shoes from Ebay. She seems to like slip on Skechers yet is getting harder to judge her size now that she is older and she refuses brand new Skechers. I found a very soft pair of Dr Scholls at our Walmart but they didn't carry them small enough. Good news is she never used to wear socks but we have found socks that do not drive her crazy. Now we just need to find shoes. Does anyone have any suggestions as to a brand of shoes that she might find comfortable? Money is no object--just tired of trying on hundreds of paris of shoes with no success.
My son Loved the Robeeze brand shoes. They are spendy but they worked great for him. We found them at Sheels stores. You can also find them on Ebay. Good luck
I have a friend that swears by the brand they sell at Gander Mountain. He has sensitive feet also and has always had trouble because men's shoes are often not made for comfort but for durability. He even found a comfortable pair of hunting boots where before he would just suffer even with thick comfortable socks and insoles. I don't know the actual name of the brand it could be Gander Mountain but they have all kinds of styles including tennis shoes and dress shoes. All I know it is he loves them and I was surprized because I didn't think of Gander Mountain for comfortable shoes. Hope this helps.

I can not recommend a good shoe but from reading your post it sounds like your daughter may have some sensory issues that could be resolved with some occupational therapy. My daughter hated shoes and would not leave them on or put them on sometimes. She would rather walk outside in the snow barefoot than have shoes on her feet until she started therapy and now she LOVES shoes and has about 6-8 diffrent pair. Good Luck T.

try some soft minnetonka moccasins. and they are cheep - so if she doesnt like them you havnt lost too much
Has she tried Crocs? How about the kind with the fur lining? Or do you really need running shoes? I know they are ugly, but man are they comfy! And they dont' touch your heels...

I'd have to agree with Tiffany. She has sensory disorders. My daughter had the same thing, and we did the OT and she is doing much better now compared to a year ago. She has to learn to like shoes, and get over her sensory issue since they are a necessity to go anywhere. The therapist will work with her and can probably reccomend some shoes. My daughters therapist said Stride Rite, she still didn't like them at first, but within a few months of therapy, she loves all her shoes!
Try Stride Rite. They are the only shoes my 2 year old daughter says aren't "owie"! Good luck!

I just bought my son some wonderful shoes from Marshalls. They are soft and are wonderful. They fit from ages 9-12 so they will fit them for a while. they come in different sizes but they are wonderful and reasonable.

How old is your daughter? My daughter had similar issues around a year when we first started putting more solid shoes on her because she was walking. The brand we like best (we tried many) is SEE KAI RUN. They are made of a very soft leather and have flexible rubber soles. There many adorable styles. I buy mine new and used on Ebay. We buy most of my daughter's shoes from the sporting goods store Sheel's because she has shoe issues, too, and they have a wide variety from Teva's to heavy boots with comfort and durability a priority. We went through a year that the straps on the Teva's upset her, so we changed to croc's for awhile, but she's fine with them again. It might be worth looking at a large sporting goods store to see if there's anything that might work. Stride rite also has good shoes that have worked in the past for us.
Earth shoes may be a radical change for her, but I have a pair (two actually) and I like them. They're the shoes with the "negative heel technology" so your heel is lower than the rest of the foot. I've talked to chiropractors and they say it's controversial whether this is beneficial or not, but I don't think it hurts. The nice thing is that these shoes are designed to give your toes plenty of room. They almost feel like a wide width, but they're not. Earth shoes can sometimes be found at department stores. I bought my first pair online for $100 and then I found the second pair at a dept. store clearance sale for about $20.
Try Robezz Tredz they seem very comfortable and they are the first shoes that my daughter picks up. When she out grows them look for Eckos. They also are made of soft leather with padding around the heals. Good Luck!
I think that Payless Shoes and ShopKo carry Sketchers and other slip on shoes...and they're probably really cheap now since summer is over. Another brand to check out is Converse because they are flat inside as well.
