Hi. The family and I are planning a two day trip to Turner Falls, Oklahoma next weekend with another family. We have reserved some screened in shelters to stay in. I've read both good and bad reviews but wanted to hear from and of you that have been there before. Any suggestions or recommendations?
Thanks,
C.

So What Happened?

Well all of you where right, it was a great place. It was nice that it was more than just camping and had stuff for the kids to do. Though it was kind of on the chilly side we enjoyed hiking and playing on the beach by the wonderful waterfall!
Thank you,
C.

We went there for a family day trip last summer. My kids were 6 and 4 and LOVED it. We climbed around different caves, swam in the water holes that also have cool slides and diving boards, and just had fun hiking around. We have some great pics- it's beautiful! If you go, take a side trip to Arbuckle Wilderness. It's not too far from there. It has a drive through zoo that my kids loved!!!

I spent years going to church camp at Turner Falls. The water will still be pretty cold, but the hiking and caves are really fun too. You'll have a blast and make lots of great memories!!!

We have spent years camping in Turner Falls! We Love it! The best part, though it may be a bit cold now, is that most of the river is only about 4-5 inches deep and its mostly a solid rock bottom. I put swim shoes on the kiddos to give them traction bc it is VERY slipery and they run up and down the river all day! But since it is spring fed, Its very cold water. You can go to the bottom of the river and there is an actual swimming area, one with a beach and one that is rock w diving boards and such. Up on the top part of the river there are various little swimming holes that may be 3-4 feet deep. All in all, its a very kid friendly place, we have been going since my 15 year old was about 2. Ther is a bath house for hot showers and a littl cafe type walk up restaurant at the entrance.

Have a great time!

We went and stayed in a rented home for the weekend! We had sooo much fun. Turner falls is fun but so was the free state park. My kids LOVED playing in the smaller rivers and streams. You will love it - M.
