I vote for the dermatologist as well, but in the meantime, try CereVe lotion (Walgreens, CVS). I used to have terrible ezcema on my hands because of contact with almost every soap and washing so often, but this has totally cleared it up for years! My daughter had excema all over her legs and arms, and this is the only thing that worked to get rid of it totally. It's a super-fast absorbing, lotion-like consistency cream in the TUB. Not the pump. I've put it into several small lotion travel bottles and have it everywhere. I think it's pure gold!

Hi K.,

Jaimee is right about the Renew lotion. It's incredible. The most important thing to know is that ezcema is systemic so it's coming from a lack of nutrition. Being pregnant, that is more serious than normally. Either the baby is getting all the nutrients and you're not getting any OR nobody is getting any nutrition. A lot of prenatal vitamins don't absorb so you don't get what is listed on the label. A lot of vitamins cause free radical activity so you need additional antioxidants to combat the free radicals that cause major diseases. Research your prenatal. If it's simply what the doctor gave you it's probably because he thinks one is as good as another. Doctors are great for some things but they aren't trained in nutrition and the body thrives when it is nourished.

I can recommend an excellent one if you'd like my opinion. Congratulations on your little one! God bless!!!

Try the new BIO OIL.
Or A&D ointment
Or Desitin
Or Vitamin E, straight oil out of the capsule
Or Cod Liver Oil, out of the capsule.
Or Olive Oil, right out of the kitchen.

Apply Hydrocortisone cream for a few days only prior to the ointment of your choice.

Take your prenatal vitamins and use a humidifier and don't use harsh soaps.

I would go to the dermatologist! I had PUPP, which is a pregnancy rash, with both my kids and it was horrible!!!!! It doesn't sound like you have that exact rash, I think it's concentrated to the belly/torso area, but honestly, do not be miserable. I waited a long time with my first to get relief and I was so miserable the entire time. With my second I decided to go ahead and take the steroids and I can't believe how much better I felt! If it is exzema then at least get a Rx strength cream! Good luck!
