Yes. Their body is making a response to the substance in the shot to build their immune system. This is totally normal.
I know it is normal to have a higher temp after shots but is it normal for the baby to sleep for the rest of the day and be fussy when he is normally calm and happy?
We are still sleepy. Fever has broken and so far not cranky (not really sure because he has spent all day minus nursing asleep). Thank you for reassurance that it is normal!

Yes. The body is working hard in order to identify the terrible disease in order to "mark it" in case the body comes in contact with it at a future date. That's how the antibodies will know how to fight it. Her tiredness today is a small price to pay for weeks of sickness or worse later on!
Dawn
Yes.
My kids did that too, when babies.
So I let them rest.
But be SURE, you are still nursing baby, and when needed.
And at any time shots are given, the Doc's office should give you an information sheet about the vaccine given. On it, will be ALL the information you need about it and the effects.
That's how my kids have acted after shots.
I have four kids and four different reactions. One of the reactions was sleeping all day and cranky little you know what. Only one never had any reaction to any of his shots.
Mine weren't cranky, but they sure slept after their shots. I always looked forward to shots because it was the only time they had a long nap!
Yes. My granddaughter sleeps them off too. Very common. Cranky n fussy common too. There are some babies that do not have reactions but they are far n few between.
Yep, totally NORMAL.
That is why it is best to give your baby/child a dose of Tylenol about 1/2 an hour before you take him/her in to the doctor to get his/her shots.
Yes, very normal. I hate shots. Hope he feels better.
Yep.
Give baby some Motrin and let him/her sleep.
