Hi Mommas,

I'm 37.2 weeks along with Baby #2. With my daughter, they had induced me so I really don't know what to look for/expect. In the last couple/few days, I've had an increase in discharge, BH contractions that are really painful, he's much lower now, back pain, tightening of my stomach, but nothing consistent. Well, the contractions aren't consistent. I'm wondering if this is just typical pregnancy stuff or if my body's getting ready for labor. Thanks for any help/advice. :)

What can I do next?

I dealt with symptoms like that for about two weeks before my last one came. I knew, though, the day she would come...I just felt awful. Before that day, I THOUGHT I felt awful...no. That day, I really just knew. And sure enough, my water broke around midnight that night.

Congratulations!!

(I'm grinning at your 37.2 weeks, btw. Trying to figure out what 1/5 of a week is, since that breaks up into hours instead of days to come out even. You really are counting the moments!!!) :)

You could walk around like that for another month. It all sounds like normal pregnancy stuff to me. The second time around its normal to have more intense braxton hicks, I had them every time I stood up.for the last 2 months of being pregnant with baby #2. Watch for your 'bloody show' or contactions that dont stop when you lay down and rest. Good luck and I hope you have your baby soon, that last month is total torture. I heard somewhere that the last month is more and more uncomfortable because its natures way to make us less scared of giving birth :)

the only 2 signs I know of (other than actual labor, which obviously indicates labor!!!!!!) that indicate onset of labor is your mucus plug and if your water breaks.

Good luck!

Of course your body is getting ready for labor, but it could be getting ready for weeks.

With my second, I started dilating about 3 weeks before he came. My midwife never checked me, I just felt it --sharp pains. I also had bad diarrhea for two weeks.

Your body could take 2 days or 4 weeks to "get ready." Baby comes, when baby is ready.
