Some Very Unimportant and Boring Questions!

Hi ladies. I don't know why but some really dumb questions are on my mind. And I just want to know how I compare to everyone else on these issues.
1. How often do you buy new underwear and do you throw out the old when you do? I have bought some new ones but not for a little more than a year ago and still have some really old ones.
2. How often do you buy new bras and same thing, do you get rid of the old? Yikes, I have bras that have been through hell and back with me...when I finish nursing my son, I think I'll set them all on fire, and go get some new ones.
3. Do you have white socks that despite bleaching will not be white anymore, due to walking around the house in socks. (OK OK I know it means my floors are not clean enough, don't hate me). Do you just throw them all out and buy new ones? If so, how often do you end up having to replace them?
4. If you have a couch that you LOVE where did you buy it? We need a new couch and I just don't know for sure where to go.

Thanks for paying attention to these really random and unimportant questions. See you later!

What can I do next?

These aren't dumb questions!!!! Nor are they unimportant! they are important to you!!!

I buy new underwear when I need it. Which is usually once every couple of years...why so long? Because I literally have about 20 pairs of underwear. I wash them in a lingerie bag so they last longer.

Bras? oooh my weight has been fluctuating so I've been buying bras more frequently - like every six months. Now if I can just get back to level!! I like being level!!!

Socks - I use them as dusting mittens - works GREAT!!!

Couch? We actually bought our Lazy-Boy in the family room off Craigslist. That was 9 years ago!!! We are ready for a new one - but the budget, however, is not!!

The leather couches that we bought for our living room were purchased at a store at that is no longer in business.
With both bras and underwear - I throw them away.

Undies - I throw out ones with holes or with stretched out elastic (or if they are uncomfortable). I buy new ones when I don't have enough.

Bras- Same as above. When they get too stretched out, they go out.

Socks - I throw them out when they get holes. (Okay, mostly. Sometimes I wear holey socks.) I just bought new ones, so I get to throw out the holey ones now. Yeah!

We have a leather couch that seems to be surviving the young child years. We bought it on sale at Macy's (but being Macy's, we still probably paid too much for it.)

Undies/Bras -- new every yearish. Generally I pitch out any visually offensive items, rips, etc.

I always wear shoes in my house, and rarely white socks, so can't help you there...generally socks here go when they have a hole (mine, hubs) or outgrown (son).

The best sofa I ever owned was butter soft leather by Natuzzi. They USED to carry Natuzzi at Macy's...not sure where now--that was QUITE a while ago. Generally, your feet should reach the floor in a couch when you're sitting all the way back--THAT is the secret of a comfy couch!

1,2,3, I buy/toss as often as needed. When the elastic is shot or there are holes I can't live with, that's when!

4- Haynes furniture, I LOOOOOOVE MY COUCH!! Best 2 grand I ever spent. I got a great deal on it too. My couch has been featured in a ton of magazines and shows spotlighting homes and such (I didn't know that when I bought it)... too bad I have no idea who makes it :( It's microfiber, it's a 4 piece sectional (the pieces snap together, so they don't separate when you sit).... dark dark brown leather and a dark (but lighter) brown microfiber, and a million pillows of all sizes, burnt orange, yellow, and brown. It has a 5 year warranty, cleans SUPER easy, and I love it!

1) I only throw out undies if they have shrunk (or maybe I got fatter!). I buy a new pair of underwear every few months. Gap Body has them on sale and I buy them when I get a 40% off coupon so it comes to about 2 dollars each.

2) I only throw out bras if they are uncomfortable. I had one and the underwire got warped. I buy probably 1 new bra a year, maybe 2. I like the nude ones. My husband hates those.

3) I wear slippers around the house because no matter how clean your floor is, white gets dirty. I also don't buy white socks. Unless you wear them with sneakers, they look lame.

4) We have a leather coach from Macy's we love and one from Huffman Koos which is good but slippery. We got a great navy blue velvet one with down filling combo from Domain. It is soo comfortable!

I probably buy new underwear every couple of years. Funny you should ask that today because I just said to my husband on Saturday that I need new underwear! I keep some of the good ones, but throw out the really worn ones.

Same for bras. I will usually keep one old one and throw the rest out.

I don't wear white socks so no problems there!

I love my couch. Bought it brand new at a flea market!

1. I buy new ones when they catch my eye. I like certain fabrics so it's an ongoing hunt. I pitch the old ones when I buy new ones. One old one goes in the trash for each new one. Sometimes when they don't fit very well at all, then it's more like ditching several old ones for a single new one OR I just throw them away in the moment of irritation.

2. I buy new bras twice a year more or less. They get stretched out and need replacement for proper fit. I only buy practical ones so I don't spend a fortune on them for the most part. My nursing things went in the trash when I was done.

3. I go barefoot at home and my husband wears black socks around the house so I don't have this particular problem necessarily. I do have gardening socks which are hopelessly dishwater grey. I only toss socks when they develop holes. I replace them when we are down to a few pairs and even then I don't throw all the old ones out. You always need junk socks for some nasty reason (gardening, attic work, etc.).

4. We bought one of ours off Craigslist. It's a Bassett sofa and it's wonderful. Our other couch is a hand me down from my grandmother. It's also a great sofa. We like quality pieces and we couldn't find anything new in our price range. Besides we have a small child so I want him to be done being a messy baby before I buy nice furniture.

1. I keep the old underwear to wear when it's that time of the month. No sense in staining my new stuff!!! I throw it out when it's looking like it needs to. I buy new underwear when I feel like my icky supply is getting larger. There's always that surprise spotting in your cute ones!! I also buy new cute ones when I see some while shopping that I want, so I guess there is no schedule.

2. Bras are SO hard to find!! Same as undies I buy when I find a good one and when my old ones are worn I throw them out. No sense in wearing something that won't hold up the girls. My old nursing bras were SO bad when I got rid of them and I was so sick of time!

3. I hate socks and take them off when I get my shoes off so I keep them clean by not wearing them!! haha

4. I got my couch on Craig's list which is a hit or a miss. It was a hit. It reclines and I LOVE it! It's a Lazy Boy.

Have a good day!!!!

Yes, I throw away all those things - underwear, bras, socks. My socks tend to get worn on the bottom before they get stained, so there really isn't any choice. In fact, I just spent too much on bras at Victoria's Secret this weekend because I'm so tired of buying the bargain ones that don't fit. I'll be glad to throw them out! I'm pretty quick with replacing those things. They're not meant to last forever! :)

Yes, I throw away old underwear. I may be married going on 20 years but I still try to keep it pretty/sexy :)
I don't buy new bras very often because I take good care of them (wash only as needed and never put them in the dryer.)
I mostly wear dark socks, but in general I keep socks until they start to get holes (and we all wear slippers around the house anyway.)
I don't love my couch so I can't help you there, we got it at Drexel Heritage and it was WAY too expensive!

I have undies from 2003 that I bought when we moved to AZ. They are getting pretty ratty but I can't find them anymore so I keep them! I do have new ones, but they just don't fit the same.

I *thought* I found bras that I loved (I'm a hard to fit size) so I bought like 10 of them, threw out all my old ones, then realized after a month or so that I hated these too! But now I'm stuck with them cuz I don't want to buy new ones so I'm dealing with them.

Its easier to throw out all socks and start over, thats what I do for all 5 of us.

My hubby bought his leather couch and love seat at a place that sells used hotel furniture at a discount. We LOVE them but they are starting to get worn but I don't want to replace them until we buy a home and not rent anymore.

1. I buy underwear like some women buy shoes. Seems like every couple of months I am buying some more. I have over 100 pairs. The reason for so many is that I change underwear 2 or 3 times a day. I have a thing about wearing underwear more than a few hours at a time. A new pair in the morning and right after I get home from work. Sometimes right before bed too. Hipsters/bikinis for day wear and briefs for at home/sleep. The old ones get used for that time of the month. When they end up with holes or rips, then they get tossed. I know that I have some that I bought in college in 2002. Some of them still have the matching bras, too.

2. I buy new ones about once a year. Although I will be good for a while since I bought 8 new ones this summer and they are still in great shape. I still keep most of my old bras. Some of them because I have just outgrown the band and I think I might get to use them again. As they wear out, I use them to wear when I am doing yard work or anything that's going to be physical. I have tossed a few of them, but not that many.

3. I hardly ever buy socks because I hardly ever wear them. They usually end up with holes in the heel or toes and then they get tossed. The last time I bought white socks was over a year ago. I've worn socks twice this year. I wear sandals/flip flops even in the winter.

4. No advice on the couch. I got one when someone in my old apartment complex threw it out and the other I bought at a pawn shop. The one I bought I also got in college. Maybe I should start purging! :)
