Hello! Happy New Year!

I am going to a formal dinner for my husband's work and was thinking of buying some tanning lotion since I am so white right now. Does anyone have any suggestions of a good brand..that doesn't look fake or turn your skin orange? My dress is strapless and ties around the neck. I'm not sure whether to look over the counter, department store, etc. I'm sure there's a ton of them.

Thank You!

Hi B.,

I would go to a tanning salon that does Airbrush tanning....so worth it, and you don't look orange. The results are immediate!

Hi B.! I have used lots of sunless tanners, I wouldn't do one of the cheapies as they would make me break out and get bumps. I love clairns from any dept store, it does have a scent to it, so use scented lotion over later. I have recently discovered the Arbonne sunless "made in the shade spray slef tanner" only sold online or through a consultant, I am one so I can get it for you. It has no scent and love it. let me know and best of luck:)

Go to a tanning salon that offers the Mystic Tan. It's a spray on tanning machine (safe, affordable, less messy, very easy). Usually salons chrage between $25-50 a session, but it's well worth it. The tan comes on even and natural. I've used it several times. I recommend Shear Paradise Salon (I-17 and Bell Rd). They offer other tanning lotions if you prefer to do it yourself too.

I have used NOAD before and my friend used it last week with great results. It looked natural.

I travel to Hawaii a lot for work and sometimes like to look tan.

I am a flight attendant and have 3 kids, and 5 grandbabies.
Have fun at the party.

There are so many products out there but they all have that wierd sunless tanning smell that you can't coverup. My suggestion is to go to a tanning solon and have them air brush you instead. It's done by professionals and they can get it done without making strieks on you. It will look more natural.... Good Luck!

I've used Jergens Natural Glow daily moisturizer in the past and was very happy with the results. I think it comes in 3 different skin tones. I already had a decent base tan so I used the medium skin tone, however I think it also comes in light or fair skin tone which may be better if you have no tan at all.

Hi B.,

I'm an Arbonne consultant. I recommend Arbonne's Made In The Shade, Self-Tanner, SPF 15. It doesn't turn you orange. It actually gives you a nice bronze color. You'd have to use it twice a day until you get to the shade you like. Then you can use it every couple of days to maintain.

Also, we have a couple of estheticians in our Arbonne team. If you'd like I can get their contact information so you can find out what you need to do to get your license, etc. I'm thinking about getting some info for myself as well. Arbonne's products are amazing and it'd be great to be able to know what ingredient is what, what works best for what, etc.

Have a great weekend.

I use Jergen's Natural Glow. It is the only brand that doesn't turn my skin or knees orange. You can buy it at Sam's Club in a two pack of the big bottles with two smaller carry along bottles for $13. :o)

Mary Kay has a wonderful sunless tanner at a great price. I tried it over the summer before my tan set in and I loved it. It looked really natural, went on nicely (no streaks) and didn't have any funky smell that other products have.

Hi B.! Arbonne makes the best sunless tanning lotion, and it's safe and non-toxic. I've used it for years, and distribute the products myself if you are interested. You won't be disappointed.

I too was white coming into the holiday party season - I have never felt like I could get a good over-the-counter sunless tan, and going to the spray tan booth wasn't very satisfying either. Always seemed like there were places either I or the auto sprayer couldn't reach. Then, a friend of mine suggested I get an air-brush tan. They are available in salons - at least I hope so where you live. I live in a small town in CO so surely this is available elsewhere. It is kind of strange - standing there in your undies while a lady "paints" you - but the results are amazing. No missed spots, no blotches, no runs. You have to wait twelve hours before showering, and you need to exfoliate really well. I did two applications the week before we had three weekend parties, and it was great. Good luck!

I like Coppertone's Gradual Tan sunless tanner (I hear Jergens brand is good, too). You can get it at the grocery store or drug store. I am not sure if Coppertone comes in different shades. You put the lotion on in the morning and wear it all day. Some of the color comes off the next time you shower, but most of it stays. I usually wear the lotion for two days in a row to get a nice color - three to get really dark - but I can see the results with only one appplication (as quickly as an hour after putting it on). I like the gradual tanners because they don't smell nearly as bad as the regular tanners and you can wear the lotion under your clothes all day long. And, in a pinch, you can put some on the right before you're going out to get a hint a of color. The color lasts a few days.

Last time I used a regular self tanner (as opposed to the gradual tanner) before a big party I was going to ... my tan looked great, but I felt like I was radiating that yucky self-tanner smell the whole night.

Good luck!

I used to be the bottle tan queen back in the day. And it looked "real." The one I liked was a catalogue order, so it'll take time to arrive. My backup is bain-de-soliel. Many over the counters are improving the orange look, but I'd stay away from the cheap stuff just in case -- and sprays. I mix mine with lotion (50/50) over a period of days to get a smoother look. If you've never used them before, there will be an odor to your skin. Be sure to wash the palms of your hands well after applying, and go easy on elbows and knees. The skin will absorb and turn darker.

B.- the most amazing stuff is Arbonnes self tanner. You dont look orange and it goes on very nice so there are no streaks. Plus it is non-toxic so nothing gets passed on to your precious little girl.
I like that you can continue to put it on in one day to get the results you want.
My friend Margo can get you some asap and there is a 45 day money back guarantee so you are not stuck with something you dont like- her number is ###-###-####.
I love your message about you but was sad to hear that you are working graveyards. I know how that feels when you want to spend time with your daughter. I was able to get out of that situation and now I am home all day with her and bringing in money to help support our family. There is hope, I promise:)
Talk soon,

You must try Kiehl's Sunless Self Tanner - by far the best in the industry! You will be hooked after your first use - you can use it on your face and body and will have an all over even "glow". No smell or streaking - it can't be beat.

I like Neutregena...sorry about spelling!
Anyway, you can also try going to a spray tan place. I have not tried it, but my friend did before her vacation and it looked good. It lasts for about a week or 2.

Happy New Year to you too!

I use Nicole Miller sunless tanning towelettes. It's easy
to apply and you can make it as dark or light as you like
by reapplying. The towelettes are great as you just wipe it
on. You can get Nicole Miller as a Melaleuca member. I don't sell the product but you can buy it at discount with a membership. I'm an account rep and help people open memberships. It's easy to do and it comes to your door in about 4 days.

This is what I do to allow me to be a stay-at-home mom.

If you have an interest or need more info just email me.

Hi B.. How fun that you get to go to a formal dinner! And, congratulations on your baby. I love her name. I just had a newborn six weeks ago and he was 4.5 weeks early. It was so scary, but he is home now and doing wonderfully!
I love being tan, so I'm always looking for ways to be "tan" without the sun. I represent Arbonne International, and we carry a product called "Made In the Shade" self-tanner with SPF 15. I had been working a business with Arbonne for a year, and I had not tried this particular product because I was scared that I would be orange! All the other "self tanners" I had tried in the past, including Mystic Tanning, had turned me orange! But, my friend who lives in Seattle, was telling me how much she loves it, so I decided to give it a try. It's awesome! It's absolutely the best self-tanner I have ever used, and I think I've tried most of them! :) If you're intersted, you can check out my website at: www.mandyolsen.myarbonne.com. I'd be happy to let you try some for yourself too before you buy. I have some on hand if you need it right away. Just let me know! Good luck!
Sincerely,
