Hi Mothers,
I have the oiliest skin know to man! My face is unbelievable and I need some help. I don't wear makeup, such as foundation or anything. I mostly just wear lipgloss. I wash my face with proactive, but I'm not consistent at all with it so I have yet to see any change. I don't have a bad problem with acne, it's just small blemishes here and there. I would like to start with some sort of makeup, but don't really know where to start. But most importantly I need something to help me with this oil, because I feel like a clown! Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks you guys.....

What can I do next?

Both my Mom and me have very oily faces.
The good news is we are not prone to wrinkling.
I've tried all kinds of makeup- hypoallergenic, etc - you name it - it just clogs my pores up and then I break out.
Not washing my face frequently does NOT slow down oil production - it just makes for more blackheads.
For me the only thing for it is to wash my face often multiple times a day.
I use scrubby gloves and soap in the shower to exfoliate and use the Stridex salicylic pads. My nose and forehead are shiny again 15 min later no matter what I do.
Power rooms were named not for FACE powder but for WIG powder.
A lot of makeup back then (Elizabethan times) had lots of lead in it and people would poison themselves with it.

I have very dry skin and I use and sell Mary Kay and it is a really great system. I would love to let you try some samples and see if it is what you need no pressure.

Wash your face with a great cleanser something that is foamy that will help you tone doen the oiliness. You can also try aztec-secret for a mask once a week. it is 100% Bentonite clay and you mix it with raw apple cider vinegar it works wonders for the skin. You should also use a moisturizer that is not heavy. You should try murad for acne, DO NOT dry out your skin, that will just tell your skin to prduce more oil. Anything with salicylic acid in it is good as well to help with oily skin. Change your pillow case every couple of days. As far as a a skin care system. it really is up to you, what works for you, might not work for someone else. So try a few different systems till you find the one you like.

Use a good toner and facial moisturizer. I've found a solid routine helps me control oil. I use "matte" mineral foundation, by bare minerals. It's expensive, but lasts a very long time. It helps with the oil. I also use rice paper blotting sheets, to blot the oil off throughout the day. Nutragena and other brands make blotting paper, as well.

I have oily skin. What works for me is washing my face at night and then applying moisturizer. In the morning I wet a wash cloth with warm water, wring it out and hold it on my face. When the wash cloth cools, I repeat a couple more times. Then I very lightly apply moisturizer. I do not use any cleanser on my face in the morning at all. My face doesn't get oily again until late afternoon or into the evening.

Wash your face and use Toner afterwards.
You can use a mattefier when applying foundation to help control the oil/shine or use a matte powder make up as well.

Stridex Triple Action Acne Pads with Salicylic Acid. Use once in the morning or twice again a night. Also I suggest a powder mineral foundation. A good one is Everyday minerals.
If you are brave enough, I would also suggest using a Salicylic Acid peel once or twice a week instead of using the above pads. I get mine on Amazon. I started with the 20 % and LOVE it. Helps with large pores as well.

And, after you wash your face and use a toner be absolutely sure to moisturize with an oil-free lotion that also has an SPF of 15.

When you wash your face and use toner after, in addition to the dirt you also strip the skin of natural oils. If the skin remains dry then the oil glands will go into overdrive to compensate for the dryness. This is why you have a nice sheen on your face.

Moisturize with an oil-free facial lotion. Don't use a general lotion like Jergens, anything from Bath and Body Works, etc.

use a mineral powder that matched your skin tone throughout the day. you are not alone. why do you think they used to call bathrooms "powder rooms"? woment have had this problem forever. Keep a soft brush and your powder on you at all times and when you feel the oil, just give yourself a quick swish of powder.
