Hello mothers!

I, too like many mothers would like to start losing some excess weight. From reading several reviews it sounds like weight watchers is the way to go but I would like to know the down side of it to make sure it is for me before siging up.
My husband and I work full time i drop off our 14 mo. son and my husband picks him up daily. We take turns cooking dinner, bathing, and playing with him before we turn in for the evening. I have tried to control my eating hablits but after while I indulge thinking I deserve it and I am not getting anywhere. So.......i need the extra help and support to do this. I am looking to lose at least 15 lbs before Spring. HELP!

What can I do next?

Hi C.,

I highly recommend Weight Watchers as a tool to really help you understand where you are overindulging. When I first started, I was shocked to find out how many calories I was eating in food I thought was "good." The program also provides many tools to help you succeed. The meetings are full or people in your same boat and those who have lost weight and will help support you.

The biggest downside is that you need to find time to go to the meeting... not easy when you work full time and want to spend all your spare time with you family.

However... if you aren't committed, it won't work. (No program will work if you aren't committed.) For me, commitment means going to meetings and weighing in every week. I really think that consistency and committment is the hardest part of weight loss... I haven't been back since my pregnancy and am in your same boat now!

So as long as you're ready to do it... join up asap! The program is really, really good and you will lose weight as long as you follow it. When I was really working the program, I lost 40 lbs and my husband lost 50lbs. But, like any program, if you don't follow it, it doesn't work.

Good luck.

I've had good success with weight watchers. I think the downside would be making the meetings and cost of the meetings, but the meetings made a huge difference for me with regards to losing weight. I did better when I went and weighed in and went to meetings. I highly recommend it though. It's a great system and will give you the tools to eat normally. Good luck! I know right now is a good time to start since there is no registration fee in January.

I've had wonderful success with Weight Watchers. I would say the down side is the very beginning. Just learning how to change my eating habits was tough for me at first. But once I got the hang of it, it was so easy!
Good luck!

I just had to laugh at you saying you deserve it. I do the same thing! Especially with my glass of wine...always have to have snacks! I wish you luck :-) I have never tried weight watchers but i have seen results on extended family.
