I have just found out about The Grocery Game. Has anyone actually tried this? If so, how has it worked for you and do you REALLY save money by using it?

When "stockpiling", are you stockpiling on items you use or just the items that are on sale? Saving is great but not if I'm only saving on items that I wouldn't normally use. I have a family of 6 and can't afford to purchase items we don't need or use.

I welcome your responses...

What can I do next?

I've been doing the Grocerygame since March. It has definately saved me money. You can get sucked into buying things that you don't need. The trick to it is stockpiling things that you know you will definatly need. For example I have 20 boxes of GM cereals in my "stockpile". Used my coupons and got the sales and I spent less than $2 per box. Laundy det, fabric softner, cleaners, FOOD! With a large family you know how much you can go through the snacks especially in the summer. I can tell you that I have cut my grocery bill in half. I have also earned rewards for fuel, FREE movie tickets and extra coupons.

There is just so much that I can say about it I don't have enough time to type it all. If you would like to send me a PM I would be more than happy to give you a call and/or meet you and show you exactly how its done. I live in the NRH/Keller area.

Check out the message boards on GG too. You see the good the bad and the ugly there! Check out one of my posts

and I split the total amount between 2 families!

Good luck and I look forward to hearing from you

I tried it but to with no luck but it was because I had kiddos with me ALL the time...
It does save money and You just clip what you need. Or if you are willing to try new stuff...
You get a trial to start. It really is cheap to sign up for too.
If you can find a buddy to do it with you that might help too.

I have used GG in the past and yes it does save you money but I was purchasing a lot of items that my family did not use. I saw a significant savings when I used it but I found that the thrill of getting something free or next to nothing was clouding my judgment on exactly what we needed and used. I hope this helps.

My older brother is a savings guru, and swears by it! He has been trying to get me to do it for a long time, and I just havn't yet.
He does get things for free that he doesn't use, but just gives them to someone else, or donates to the food bank.
