Thinking About a Weight Loss Patch...Anyone Had Success?

I am desperate to lose weight! I have tried lots of diets, exercise programs, and fasting, but no long-term success with keeping it off. A friend of mine has lost a considerable amount of weight with a weight-loss patch, similar to a birth-control patch or nicotine patch. I haven't worked up the nerve to ask her detailed questions about it, just finding out little bits from mutual acquaintances. I was wondering if you ladies have heard of this or experienced any success with it?

What can I do next?

Several ladies in my Jazzercise class are wearing them. I will post an update when I see them next and ask them how much they have lost.

Hi G.! I'm in the same boat (100+), so I know the struggles you are going through!

I have found great success with the Jen Fe Power Patch. I started on it 5 weeks ago and have already lost over 20 lbs! It has totally taken away my cravings and reduced my appetite. I'm no longer snacking during the day either. Best of all, when I go to restaurants, I am only eating half the portion and boxing the rest for later!! It doesn't make me feel weird or jittery. And I've slept more soundly too. I used to get up every hour or two, but now I'm down to once a night! It's been great.

They are ephedra-free too!

Here's the link to get patches:

www.nexagenusa.com/orderpatches

My daughter's preschool teacher went from a size 14 to a 4 in 4 months!! That's what encouraged me to try them. If you have any questions or concerns about it, please let me know. I'll be glad to answer them or find someone who can.

We're all in this journey together!! Good luck!

I can't relate personally, but I have always been weight/size conscious. I have had friends and family loose weight (100 lbs) using Eat Right for your Blood Type, and 95 lbs on South Beach. They both teach you different things, but the South Beach at least teaches you how to eat for a living. I struggle with not being a member of the clean plate club and I love good food. I wasn't willing to stop eating things I like, I just had to learn to eat differently. Two of my favorite and weaknesses are rice and pasta. South Beach just teaches you to trade the white for the whole grain. No problem, I have been hearing that from my instructors at the gym for months. I can't tell you how it has changed my body in just a couple of weeks, I actually began to see results. My hard work is paying off, at the gym and in my home. You are truly ONE DECISION away from a lifestyle change. You can get weight loss surgery, take a patch, a pill, whatever, but if you have not made the DECISION to change your lifestyle, you will be back here time and time again. Like all good things in life, they require effort, time and commitment. Any thing that offers instant gratification comes with disappointment long term. One statement I read and teach my children is, that we can't eat for enjoyment, we must eat for nutritional purposes. Trust me that was hard to swallow, because I LOVE FOOD. I pray you will make THE DECISION for a lifestyle change and eliminate instant gratification opportunities. I know you will feel so good about yourself when you see the results of your hard work, yes the only way to make it work is diet and exercise. (With the decision, self-control will take over because the desire for results is greater than the WANT-if you just WANT something, you may never stretch yourself to get it, when you NEED something, you will do whatever it takes to get it.)

I know that was not you question. I apologize for the long answer. If not you, I pray it will change someone else's life too.

I was over weight my entire life. Finally at 26 I went to a doctor that specializes in diet. He checked my blood and did an ekg. Come to find out I have a slightly slow thyroid. He put me on a very low dose. I was on a very strict diet. You know when people say "I will do anything to loose weight" perhaps its more what you WONT do. You wont eat sugar of any kind, wont drink soda of any kind, you wont sit on the couch. Its tough but I lost eighty pounds and after the baby I am back on the very strict diet and exercise. A patch, a pill, a fad diet is all temperary. You have to make a life style change and truly dedicate getting your body healthy not skinny. So much luck to you and God bless.

My name is J. Crowley here in Longview, TX. I haven't tried the patch being that it is chemically enhanced, but I have tried some natural herbs through my business if your interested. There is a carb blocker, a slimmetry and lots of different kinds of vitamin/multimineral stuff as well as HealthPoint. I know a woman who has been in the same situation and couldn't lose any weight. She even signed up to a women's gym and still didn't lose any weight. She then got on healthpoint through our business and in 2 months she has lost 30 lbs. and still going. If you are interested in finding out some more info or if you would like to stick to more natural ways to lose weight that won't put side effects and chemicals into your body and reduce your lifespan, give me a jingle. The Nutrilite products are #1 globally on the internet and are the highest in purity and are more than just organic. They have even imported Egyptian worms in to help cultivate the ground. They have 4 hours between the time they harvest them and are sealed in the bottle or they trash it. This ensures the best quality. Did you know that 9 out of 10 bottles of any type of vitamin at all stores, even health stores only have 25% of what they say they actually have in them. And these are totally 100% guarenteed or your money back even after you try it. Let me know if you would like to get back your health and energy for keeps. It has definitely helped me and my kids. I hope you find what you are looking for. God Bless. ____@____.com ###-###-####

My name is L. and I live in Gainesville, TX. In December, I found a program in Denton called Baby Boot Camp. It's a national franchise of moms who can get a a challenging workout without hiring a personal trainer and a babysitter or purchasing a gym membership.
You get a personal trainer, a small class of other moms who support you, AND you bring your baby with you and s/he sits in the stroller.
I don't mean to sound like an infomercial but I tell everyone who will listen about how awesome I think Baby Boot Camp is!
Almost immediately, I had more energy. I now weigh less than I did before I had my daughter last March. My the best part for me is that there are other moms there who quickly become your friends so it kind of holds you accountable to go to class since you know they'll be looking for you. I've made a lot of really good friends in the class and I hang out with them outside of class!
I haven't really changed my eating habits but just having the guaranteed exercise 3 times a week ( you can do 1, 2, or 3 times a week) has really helped my weight and body fat composition. I just thought I'd share what an incredible experience I've had here.
www.babybootcamp.com
I don't know where you're located but Baby Boot Camp is National. There are similar programs such as Stroller Strides and Stroller Fit and easy to find via Google. Good luck!

G. I am 42 years old this year and have been on the weight loss roller coaster my whole life. At my heaviest I have been 265, and my lowest that i can remember is 137. But after years of doing this I found that things that worked for others would work for me short term, but not the long term. What works for me is the tread mill every day. Do i like it HECK NO! But i have stayed a size 9 for over 3 years doing it. Yes i still have my junk food on the weekend, but during the week I try to eat right. It has worked for me. You need to find something that works for your lifestyle and body. God Luck girl i understand your struggle.

I don't know anything about the patch, but I did have great success with Weight Watchers. It is safe, it is easy, you don't have to buy their foods, or eat special things, or deny yourself certain foods, you can take it wherever you go and eat what your family eats. It is about learining to make good choices (not always fruit and veggies)! I have kept my weight off for over a year now. Would be happy to give you more info if you are interested.

I too like so many other posts, cannot give advice on the patch, but I wanted to warn everyone to be very careful with adtkin's or any very low carb diet. I did very low carb for a while and did lose weight, but it is only temporary, because as soon as you start eating those carbs again, you will gain weight! I did it off and on, they warn you not to stay on for too long, well i guess I did, because I ended up with an adrenal disorder! High protein is very bad for your kidneys, and the adrenals are a kidney shaped gland just above each kidney. they produce the adrenalin you need when in danger, they also give you energy. I have no energy and have to take lots of supplements now just to get through each day. perhaps if I had eaten a lot more veggies and some fruits along with all that protein? I don't know, what I do know is that it messed me up for life! please be careful. I think the diets that restrict sugar, and processed carbs are a lot healthier than adkins. I hope that this post saves someone from the terrible ordeal I went through and still am paying for. best of luck.

I've tried a lot of different things to lose weight. Excercise etc. Nothing worked. So far the only thing that has been working is Weight Watchers. I use the online weight watcher, so I dont' go to meetings, but I've heard from a lot of people that the meetings really help as a support group!

I've been consistently losing weight for about 3 1/2 months. I can eat whatever I want, so i don't feel deprived. The first few weeks are hard, but if you push through it it gets easier!!! And I'm really seeing results.

What I found was that I was not eating enough. And believe it or not if you don't eat enough, your body holds on to the fat. So with WW I'm learning how to make good food choices and include water, fruits and veggies and whole grains.

It really works I would reccomend it over any dietary supplement!!!

Good luck!

I too would be weary of something like that. I would not wear it unless you know exactly what is on and where it all comes from. Also you might have a great outcome from it, but is it going to be one of those things that as soon as you quit wearing it you start putting the pounds back on quicker than you lost them? I am a member of Weight Watchers. I use the online tools and attend the meetings. Just following their flex plan and adding more exercise I have lost 10 lbs in 6 weeks. Not the quickest, but is definitely a healthy way of doing it. It has been a major eye opener to me about portion control.

Good luck, and please be careful in whatever you choose to do!

I also wanted to say I don't agree with the low carb/atkins diet. Your body needs carbs. I would recommend going to a place like www.sparkpeople.com or www.fitday.com -- log all of your food and go for a balanced diet. It will help you stay in the right range of calories, carbs, fat, sodium, and fiber. I've lost 50lbs by going there. It's a lifestyle, NOT a diet.

I too need to lose 100+ pounds. I have had success with the Adkins. I was able to lose 80lbs before I had my daughter. It is very harmful to a fetis so I had to go off of it. It has been very difficult to get back on it, but I started just yesterday. The initail weightloss is a great jump start. If you are of childbaring age, you have to be careful with this diet.
I'ld be careful with a patch also. Get as much information as you can and please see a doctor first. good luck.

I haven't heard of the weight loss patch but can only imagine that it has a lot of caffeine in it. I am an ER nurse and have seen many people come in to the ER with wierd symptoms from diet pills etc. with caffeine in them. Such as hair loss, dizziness, out of body experiences, anxiety attacks etc. I have known people and have had lots of experience myself with the 'low carb diets'. These work very very well. I would suggest doing this. This diet works if you do it right. You have to know the amount of carbs you are eating though. I have seen people fail with this diet only because they forget to count carbs in certain foods and condiments like ketchup and breaded meats. I would definitely recommend this diet to anyone. I have had a lot of success with it and can keep the weight off by reducing my carbs if I start to gain. It is really great. I usually go off and on with it but always in the first week, I lose 5-8 pounds. If you would like more info. on this you can google it. Adkins is what I started with and it worked really well. This is the one that I would suggest if you need to lose that much weight. You will find that you will have lots of energy because of the weight loss, not because of caffeine...and no side effects. Good luck!
