Tinted Moisturizer Any Good?

I'm almost out of my moisturizer. Was thinking about getting the tinted moisturizer to help even out my tone. (I think I've seen one made by Aveeno). I don't wear foundation, so thought the tinted stuff might help me look a little more polished/pretty. Thought I'd see if you gals like it, don't like it, have advice about getting a shade darker or lighter than I think I need. I'm decently pale with freckles. Thanks in advance for your input.

What can I do next?

I'm big on the Sonia Kashuk tinted moisturizer at Target. Use it and maybe a little powder foundation on the nose-definitely a lighter look and smooths out the spots. Any extra I rub on the back of my hands since I am older and have tons of those lovely age spots! Just get close to your color.
Clarins also makes a very nice one but much pricier. I use it only under my eyes as my eyes are pretty sensitive-that one doesn't bother them. Use the Sonia Kashuk everywhere else with abandon because it is under $20.

I like tinted moisturizer a lot (get one with SPF and you'll cover all bases). I don't usually use foundation (and when I do, it's a very light mouse type). It's not a miracle product but I definitely see a more even tone when I wear it. I'm kind of pale with freckles too. I don't use it to try and cover freckles but for redness and pores, mostly. I wouldn't go lighter or darker. Try to match your tone. Lastly, if you don't like it, be aware that stores will take used makeup back! I didn't know that until well into my adulthood. If you want to be sure, spend just a little extra and go to a makeup counter of your choice and have them find the right color for you.

I LOVE the Mary Kay tinted moisturizer. It has SPF 20 in. When we were in Florida in August, I got totally FRIED (and STILL have horrible lines and discoloration 6 months later) EXCEPT for my face. It retails for $18 and I'm still using the same tube I've used every day for the last 4 months. A little goes a very long way.

I have the aveeno tinted moisturizer in the fair color, but it is actually quite dark. And it is pretty thick also- almost like a foundation itself (will rub off on clothing just like makeup). I also don't like that it is "shimmery". Overall, I guess I don't recommend it....you should try some of the suggestions from the other moms

Hi,
I like the Aveeno, yet have only used it on my legs. I think it works well and is very subtle. I would try it on another area of your body before the face. Watch out as some of them have a strange odor.

Aveeno also has a moisturizer without tint that evens out your skin tone, it works great to eliminate redness and give you a natural glow. Just wanted to add that in case you just wanted to even it out. :)

My daughter loves Aveeno and I love Organic Wear tinted moisturizer. My skin is like yours and I use Ivory to Fair. My daughter has darker skin than mine and wears Fair to medium.

Like it so much better than foundation!

I use Laura Mercier. It's pricey at $40 but it works well. I also liked the Cosmedicine brand for it's coverage, but I find the Laura Mercier moisturizes better. I go one shade darker.

Lancome makes one and I've used it for years; it may seem expensive but lasts a long time (because you don't need much), spreads nicely, is speedy to apply and makes your face look very healthy and pretty. There may be a mild fragrance but it doesn't bother me--and I tend to shy away from anything heavily perfumed.

I love the tinted moisturizers from Philosophy and Kiehls. They both provide light, but nice coverage and keep the skin moisturized. The drawback is that they are a bit pricey, though I think you get more for your buck at Kiehls.
