Hi Heather,

I have heard of nipple stimulation....Don't know if this is safe, as it seems to be a controversial method. I have heard that it causes really strong contractions, though, similar to pitocin. I have had pit, and it's no fun! I would google nipple stimulation and see what you can find. Good luck!

It's simply going to happen when it's the right time for you. I can understand wanting to move things along (I went overdue with my first by 9 days ... ugh), but unfortunately, unless you have a scheduled c-section, you have no say.

Realx as much as you can. The baby will come when ready and not one moment before.

I tried everything but castor oil with both my boys and nothing helped. You just have to let your body do its thing, your baby will come when he/she is ready. Good luck and congrats.

Don't do the castor oil....all it really does is give you bad cramping (not contractions) and makes you poop. Honestly you won't go into labor until your body is ready but if you are there then somethings that can help are having sex, doing squats and walking. Also get a foot rub. There is a spot on your foot, like where your foot and ankle meet that can put you into labor. That is why when you get a massage while pregnant they can't do your feet so you don't go into labor.

When I was 41 weeks I had intercourse with the hubby...not sure if it worked or was just coincidental, but started having contractions 15 hours later. I have another friend who was not overdue yet and her water broke within 10 minutes after having intercourse. So for me and my friend it worked!! So if you're to that point it may work!

Go all Zen on yourself.
Picture your baby moving down and coming out.
I know that sounds crazy, but seriously, your baby will come when it comes. Not much you can do about it unless you schedule a time and place for a c-section.
Walking is really good for you and the baby, unless your doctor has told you otherwise.
With my first baby, I was so done being pregnant, I was about to come unglued. But she came right on time and I wouldn't have changed anything looking back.
Start a journal about your feelings and just try to be patient and let nature take it's course.

Best wishes!

Reflexology worked for me! A massage therapist friend of mine used reflexology on my hands, feet and legs and my contractions started in about 2 hours.
